The Global Operations Specialist will facilitate the research, design, testing, and development of innovative solutions across IoT, robotics, machine learning, enterprise software, mechanical design, and related advanced technologies. This role will support the seamless transition from Business Operations to Global Operations, building robust internal processes and collaborating closely with technical teams to deliver next-generation technology solutions globally.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Process Improvement and Workflow Optimization

  • Evaluate operational workflows: Analyze the end-to-end processes involved in the development, production, and deployment of technology products and services.
  • Enhance operational efficiency: Propose and implement optimizations to reduce bottlenecks, improve efficiency, and lower costs.
  • Automation initiatives: Identify areas where automation can streamline repetitive tasks, ensuring smoother and faster operations.
  • Document operational procedures: Develop and maintain clear guidelines and documentation for internal processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.

2. Cross-Departmental Coordination

  • Facilitate collaboration across teams: Coordinate communication between various teams, such as research and development, engineering, and operations, to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
  • Oversee integration of tools and technologies: Ensure that hardware, software, and other technical systems work in harmony, coordinating with different teams to resolve integration challenges.
  • Support team coordination: Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams to align project objectives with broader business goals.

3. Operational Strategy Development

  • Support long-term operational strategies: Work closely with leadership to design strategies for optimizing production, scaling operations, and improving service delivery.
  • Manage operational budgets: Assist in managing budgets related to technology tools, infrastructure, and services, ensuring that spending aligns with operational goals.
  • Market analysis and industry trends: Conduct research to stay updated on trends within the industry, influencing operational strategies and staying competitive.

4. Data Management, Security, and Compliance

  • Oversee data operations: Ensure that data collection, storage, and processing are conducted efficiently and securely, maintaining adherence to internal governance policies.
  • Maintain data security: Work with IT teams to ensure the security of sensitive data, applying appropriate safeguards to prevent breaches and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Compliance management: Ensure that operational processes adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and legal obligations.

5. Technology and Tools Management

  • Evaluate and manage tools and platforms: Assess and recommend the most appropriate tools, platforms, and technologies for enhancing operational efficiency and supporting business objectives.
  • Optimize resource utilization: Ensure the optimal use of computational, storage, and infrastructure resources to support business needs, minimizing costs while maximizing performance.
  • Implement technology best practices: Stay informed of emerging technologies and tools that could improve operational workflows and overall productivity.

6. Vendor and Supply Chain Management

  • Vendor relationship management: Manage relationships with key vendors who provide hardware, software, and other technical services, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective solutions.
  • Optimize supply chain operations: Oversee the procurement process, ensuring that necessary resources are delivered efficiently to avoid any delays in production or service delivery.
  • Negotiate contracts: Work with vendors to negotiate contracts, ensuring favorable terms that align with the organization’s operational and budgetary needs.

7. Project Management

  • Manage large-scale projects: Oversee operational projects that require cross-functional collaboration, ensuring they stay on time, within budget, and meet performance goals.
  • Track key performance metrics: Monitor operational metrics, such as resource usage, project completion rates, and service delivery timelines, adjusting workflows as needed to improve efficiency.
  • Risk management in projects: Identify and mitigate potential risks that could impact project timelines, costs, or quality, ensuring smooth delivery of services.

8. Training and Development

  • Train staff on operational tools: Provide training to employees on the use of new tools, technologies, and processes to ensure they can effectively support business operations.
  • Identify skills gaps: Analyze operational performance to identify areas where additional training or upskilling is needed, developing appropriate training programs to address those gaps.

9. Customer Experience and Satisfaction

  • Ensure customer-centric operations: Ensure that operational strategies and improvements align with enhancing customer satisfaction, leading to improved service delivery and customer experiences.
  • Monitor operational impact on customers: Track how operational changes affect customer outcomes, and adjust strategies to enhance the customer experience.
  • Facilitate communication with customer-facing teams: Work with customer service or success teams to ensure that operational processes support client needs, reducing downtime or service disruptions.

10. Risk Management and Contingency Planning

  • Identify operational risks: Assess potential risks that could disrupt day-to-day operations, such as equipment failures, supply chain delays, or system downtime.
  • Develop business continuity plans: Create contingency plans for operational disruptions, ensuring the company can maintain services and recover quickly from unforeseen events.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations: Maintain awareness of relevant regulations and ensure that operational processes comply with industry standards and legal requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business or global operations, ideally within IoT, machine learning, software, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of R&D, product lifecycle management, and scaling technical solutions for global markets.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, data compliance, and machine learning deployment in complex environments.
