The General Manager (GM) will provide strategic guidance during the initial phase of setting up the factory, which includes advising on equipment selection, overseeing the plant installation, and ensuring the factory is prepared for full-scale production. Once the factory is operational, the GM will take full responsibility for managing the daily operations of the facility, ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and operational efficiencies are met. The GM will oversee all aspects of factory management, including production, staffing, process optimization, and long-term strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Advisory & Equipment Procurement

Provide expert guidance on selecting the appropriate machinery and equipment for textile manufacturing processes.
Advise on the specifications, quality, and sourcing of equipment, including spinning, weaving, dyeing, and finishing machinery.
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of equipment and that quality standards are met.
Prepare and present technical reports and recommendations to senior management.

Plant Installation & Setup

Oversee the installation of the textile manufacturing plant, ensuring that equipment is installed in compliance with specifications and quality standards.
Coordinate with local and international contractors, engineers, and technicians to ensure smooth installation.
Optimize the factory layout to ensure efficient production workflows.
Perform comprehensive checks and tests of equipment to ensure readiness for production.

Operational Readiness

Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all factory operations, including production, maintenance, and safety protocols.
Lead the training of local staff on equipment operation, safety procedures, and best manufacturing practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring that the factory is fully prepared for operational launch.

Transition to General Manager Role (Post-Operationalization)

Upon successful setup and operationalization of the factory, relocate to Kabul to assume the role of General Manager and oversee the daily operations.
Manage all aspects of factory operations, including production, quality control, maintenance, and staffing.
Develop and implement strategies for scaling production, improving efficiency, and achieving long-term business goals.
Lead the factory’s management team, ensuring alignment with company objectives, and creating a productive and harmonious working environment.

Ongoing Support & Troubleshooting

Provide ongoing support to resolve operational or equipment-related issues as the factory enters its full production phase.
Ensure smooth production flow by addressing any technical or mechanical issues.
Regularly evaluate plant performance, including machinery maintenance schedules, production efficiency, and workforce development needs.
