Key Responsibilities:

  1. Import Operations Management:

    • Handle the end-to-end import process, including shipment documentation, clearance, and logistics.
    • Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and other service providers to ensure timely delivery.
  2. Compliance and Documentation:

    • Ensure compliance with import regulations, customs laws, and government policies.
    • Prepare, review, and maintain accurate import documents such as LC (Letter of Credit), Bill of Lading, Invoice, Packing List, and Certificate of Origin.
  3. Vendor and Supplier Coordination:

    • Communicate with international suppliers regarding shipment schedules, product specifications, and order confirmations.
    • Negotiate terms and conditions to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
  4. Inventory and Logistics Management:

    • Monitor stock levels and coordinate imports to maintain inventory levels as per company requirements.
    • Track shipments and resolve issues such as delays or damaged goods.
  5. Cost Optimization:

    • Analyze freight and customs duty costs, seeking ways to optimize expenses without compromising timelines or quality.
  6. Reporting and Analysis:

    • Prepare regular reports on import activities, costs, and vendor performance.
    • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers or alternative logistics solutions.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience: 2-5 years of experience in import/export operations, supply chain, or logistics.

  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of import regulations and procedures.
    • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
