Patient Scheduling and Appointments

  • Coordinate and manage patient appointments, including scheduling follow-up visits, consultations, and diagnostic tests.
  • Ensure timely communication with patients regarding their appointments, changes, and cancellations.

Patient Registration and Documentation

  • Assist patients with the registration process, including collecting necessary personal and medical information.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and filed.

Patient Communication and Support

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, answering queries, and providing information about services, procedures, and billing.
  • Address patient concerns and complaints, escalating issues to the appropriate department if necessary.

Coordination with Medical Staff

  • Liaise with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth patient flow and timely delivery of care.
  • Coordinate between different departments to facilitate diagnostic tests, treatments, and referrals.

Billing and Insurance Coordination

  • Assist patients with billing inquiries, including explaining charges, processing payments, and handling insurance claims.
  • Ensure all necessary pre-approvals and documentation are completed for insurance processing.

Operational Support

  • Manage the daily operations of the OPD, including managing patient flow, ensuring availability of necessary supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Monitor and report on the department's performance, including patient satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Health and Safety Compliance

  • Ensure the OPD complies with health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols and patient confidentiality.
  • Educate patients and visitors on OPD policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment.

Data Management and Reporting

  • Maintain and analyze patient data to support clinical and administrative decision-making.
  • Prepare and present reports on patient volume, appointment utilization, and other key metrics.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify areas for improvement in patient care and service delivery, and work with the team to implement changes.
  • Participate in training and development activities to stay updated on best practices in patient coordination and healthcare management.
