Give guidance to MSF teams on the medical supply chain including daily and weekly drugs request from different departments, check in relation to daily and weekly consumption and propose final order to MTL for approval.
Responsible for the monitoring of the expiries of the medical stock ONLY once the stock is out from the main medical stores and organize to get the expired drugs and give them back to logistics for safe disposal.
Organize the central pharmacy with the implementation of daily consumption /stock card system.
Prepares and places monthly medical orders/requests to the Medical Store in coordination with medical team leader/medical team in the project.
Dispense medication to Hospital Units according to medical prescription & MSF Protocols on Daily and weekly basis.
Ensure the medication is properly labeled with the correct drug name, strength, quantity, expiry date, ONLY provide medicines corresponding to the prescription
Adhere to MSF practice policies and procedures for dispensing medicines, in particular those relating to controlled drugs.
Organizes and keep clean the central pharmacy
Ensures cleanliness and care in handling medicines to avoid contamination and mix-up.
Maintains minimum stock levels of medicines, checking expiry dates and storage conditions.
Ensures NO medicines or material are taken out of the dispensary without authorization
Preparation of 4 monthly medical forecasts in coordination with medical team leader/medical team in the project.
Manage implementation of new systems, guidance of staff concerning consumption, request and stock counts.
Organize the central pharmacy and other temporary storage sites of medical items and medical (including laboratory services, and ATFP sites) once they left the logistically managed medical stores.
Organize, monitor and supervise the proper functioning of cold-chain systems and inform any breeches to the MTL/MTL-assistant and mission pharmacist immediately
1 Reception of the freight from Islamabad
2 Is present at the checking of the number of parcels, according to the cargo manifest with the supply officer.
3 Check the packing or the boxes. If any problem (damaged parcels) check carefully the content, item per item and report to his supervisor
4 Placing of the goods in pharmacy stock (shelves) according MSF standard.
5 Recording of the new arrival items in stock cards with detail information.
6 Proper installation of the goods on the shelves or wood pallets when needed, nice, clean and easy to handle and find.
7 To pack the orders according to instructions of Pharmacist.
8 Update the stock cards within maximum 2 days delay
9 Temperature monitoring of the cold chain daily two times (morning & evening) and record it in temperature monitoring sheet. In case of any problem regarding cold chain temperature immediately, inform the pharmacist.
10 Helps the Pharmacist to prepare the stock inventory every 2 months.
11 Responsible for the storage of the Drugs, set up labels in front of each item, organized by family.
12 Follow up of the in /out going items from pharmacy, Informing of the Pharmacist about shortage of the medicines to be order.
13 Assist the pharmacist in the follow up of expiry dates.
14 In the follow up of the EPREP kits (cholera, wounded, aluminium boxes...): expiry dates, inventory, replenishment
15 Responsible of the daily supply of the IPD 24h prescriptions and replenishment of the cupboards.
16 Medicines supply to all department like ER, MCH, OT, M/F SURGICAL WARDS and IPD.
