WASH engineer will supervise, conduct design & studies and review water resource, sanitation and hygiene development projects. Closely follow up and ensure the implementation of water resource development projects are in line with the plan, design, available standards, and community needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical (Elaborate the technical key results areas in detail).
Review of project documents (construction drawings & specifications) as well as business process / DIP in detail for understanding project mandate / deliverables relevant to your role.
Carry out the technical feasibility / assessment (site identification, material, labor, transportation, supplies etc) of Shelter WASH & CPI’s activities prior implementation to ensure sustainability & cost effectiveness as well as agreed time frame of project. 
Assist in preparation of drawings, BoQs & cost estimates of infrastructure schemes as per IR commitment & set standards (provide an example i.e. sphere, EQ resistant structure etc).
Assist in analysis of construction material e.g. elemental composition, dimensions & quality etc according to drawing & specification.
Assist in conducting market survey for proposed materials availability, unit rates of material/labours and provide realistic estimates of the proposed activities of WASH project.
Take part in supplier selection process by evaluating the samples against specifications given in approved BOQs/estimates at field level as & when needed.
Ensure the layouts, levels and all activities at site both pre & post construction to know whether construction work is being done according to drawings and specifications or not.
Analyse and prepare plans for material requisitions.
Monitor and provide support for developing understanding of skilled labours, community activists or beneficiary household regarding design, inclusiveness, DRR and protection measures.
Timely report to supervisor regarding any issue relevant to design at earliest stage of the project with recommendations.
Supervision of Shelter, WASH and livelihood CPIs construction activities at field.

Supervising and coordinating shelter-related activities on site, including distribution of materials, providing technical advice to beneficiaries, and ensuring compliance with humanitarian and engineering standards. Working with stakeholders to gain support and participation. Leading technical feasibility assessment before implementation to ensure sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
