Wajahat Ali is a passionate child rights activist and a lawyer with special focus on human/child rights related laws/issues and corporate laws of Pakistan. He provides pro-bono legal/recreational/support services to victims in human/child rights violation cases. His areas of expertise lie in juvenile justice system, child abuse, neglect and exploitation, child sexual abuse, trafficking-in-children, child-migrant-smuggling, child online protection, child, early and forced marriages, child labour, child malnutrition, and child/forensic psychiatry etc. He has numerous research contributions in the form of publications of research articles, policy briefs, reports in various national and international journals, magazines, newspapers and annual reports. Altogether, he has over 70 peer-reviewed publications. He has also presented his work in various national and international conferences, seminars, and meetings.
All-Pakistan NGOs Alliance (APNA) is a coalition of more than 1500 national and int’l NGOs working to safeguard the interest of NGO sector and to address the problems, which NGOs operating in Pakistan are facing. I am currently serving as the the General Secretary of APNA.
Pakistan Tax Bar Association is a coalition of 36 affiliated tax bars across the country and an apex regulatory body of tax practitioners in Pakistan. Presently, I am serving as a Special Advisor to President of PTBA.

The Child Rights Movement Pakistan (CRM) is a network of 450 NGOs, INGOs, and individual experts. The Network was established in 2010 that promotes and protect child rights in Pakistan. I am serving as an Associate Member of CRM since 2012.

Being a tax practitioner, I provide consultancy to tax payers, AOPs, firms, and companies in taxation and corporate laws of Pakistan.
Being a Program Policy Advisor at NCRC, my responsibilities were as follows;
To examine and review any law/rules or policy or practice, for the time being in force, for protection of children rights and recommend measures for their effective implementation.
To assist the Govt. of Pakistan in formulation of new policies/laws/rules related to human/child rights issues.
To examine international instruments and undertake review of existing policies/programs/legislation on child rights and make recommendations for their effective implementation and harmonization.
Advise the Federal Govt. to sign, ratify or accede to any proposed international treaty, protocol, etc.
To draft policy briefs on child rights protection thematic areas.
To contribute my technical expertise in the implementation of child rights protection programs run by NCRC in collaboration with UNICEF and Ministry of Commerce.

Being a focal person for NCRC’s Business with Parliament, Federal and Provincial Govt. Ministries/Divisions/Wings/Departments, my responsibilities were as under;
To brief the Minister for Human Rights on any matters/starred questions related to NCRC, which were raised in the Parliament to be answered by the Minister.
To answer the queries and fulfill the tasks assigned by the National Assembly/Senate Secretariats, Counsel Section of MoHR, Action Plan for Human Rights, International Cooperation Wing, Human Rights Wing, LAJA, ZARAA, CPI Humak Islamabad or any other wing/department of Ministry of Human Rights or other Federal/Provincial Govt. Ministries/Wings/Departments.
To represent NCRC as a part of team, before National Assembly/Senate Standing Committees on Human Rights and other Parliamentary Committees.
