Mr. Basir Chand is currently severing as a Dean of Faculty and Sr. Policy/System Analyst at the Statesman Institute – for Public Policy and Governance - an Islamabad base policy research think tank. In addition, he has been a visiting faculty at various public and private universities. Being optimistic and energetic person with a combination of technical expertise, professionalism, analytical skills, detail oriented aptitude, and above all a people friendly personality, Mr. Basir Chand is a rare commodity.
He has been serving in the fields of public policy, regulatory framework, constitutional and fundamental human rights, planning & development, policy formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation with public, private, multi/international and financial institutions for the last 25 years. He has established his expertise in teaching and training, policy analysis, financial feasibilities, information technology, management and conflict resolution, project management, and institutional capacity building.
Besides intensely engaged in management, he has been keenly interested in academia. An alumni of GC University of Lahore, MS in Computer Science/Information Technology from New York Institute of Technology, Dip in Law from University of London, MPA in Policy Analysis from George Washington University, he has been teaching at various educational institutions i.e. New York Institute of Technology, NOVA College, Montgomery Community College, Strayer University, and University of District of Columbia, Advance Computer Learning Institute, GC University Lahore, National University of Science and Technology, Punjab University, Fatima Jinnah Women University and Quaid-i-Azam University.
Since last two decades, Mr. Basir Chand has been engaged in technical details and business analysis, policy and decision-making process while working with “big six” and “Fortune 500” companies as a consultant i.e. Price WaterHouse Cooper, IBM and KPMG.
