Summary
Ishtiaq Zafar did his education in Rural Development from University of Sindh, with the collaboration of Wye College University of London. He worked with different non-governmental organizations like Savant Organization for Research & Development (SORD) as a Consultant/Field Coordinator and Consultant/Planning Analysis. He also worked with British Council as Freelance Employee. In this regard, he has a great experience to work at gross roots level in urban and rural areas. He has formed different Peasant Worker Groups of both men and women, CBOs, CCBs and supported them technically as they can be strengthen their community in different areas such as Education, Health, Water and Sanitation and Advocacy projects. He also developed all kind of reports similarly project based reports for the donors as well as for government officials and presented papers to develop rural and urban areas of Pakistan. He has experience in capacity building, project management and administration at different levels. He has attended various training's arranged by national and international organizations.
Mr. Ishtiaq has organized, participated, coordinated and conducted more than 50 Training events for the staff of SORD and British Council. He has been directly involved in Training Need Assessment, Designing of Training, Training Arrangements and Evaluation of Training. He has conducted various sessions on Gender Development, Effective Communication and Presentation Skills, Social Mobilization, Community Management, Disaster Risk Reduction, Team Building, Gender Awareness and Conflict Resolution.
Mr. Ishtiaq loves to travel and meet new people, he is inspired by nature. He wants to travel the world and explore his field of interest from understanding different cultures and employee behaviors.
Presently, he is working with British Council.
Experience
FIELD COORDINATOR/CONSULTANT
COORDINATION: Depending on the context and mission needs, develops and implements the district strategy integrating FE, NFE, and Vocational programs in collaboration with the respective program managers and technical coordinator(s). Provides general support, guidance, and serves as focal point during program planning, grant writing, and reporting.
MANAGEMENT: Oversees opening, closing and/or regular running of one or more bases including management of all or part of support staff, program support activities, administration, and security of the base as well as coordination with program staff on the base level. Ensures that procedures and donor regulations applicable to projects implemented in the region with regards to program, logistics, security, HR, and administration are closely followed.
REPRESENTATION: Represents the organization at the regional level including general meetings with donors, humanitarian actors, local authorities, protocol meetings, security meetings, as well as sector program meetings when requested by the mission coordination. Represents manages the visit of donors representatives / other stakeholders whenever requested.
LOGISTICS: While the context may vary, typically in charge of overseeing the logistics on the district level ensuring the proper set up / rehabilitation / running of base premises, the functioning of supply chain including procurement planning, purchasing of goods and services, their transport and storage, the organization, planning, and maintenance of the fleet and equipment, and the functioning of the means of communication appropriate for the respective region.
ADMINISTRATION / HUMAN RESOURCES: Responsible for overseeing the management of finances and administration on district level. Ensures the proper management of finances on the bases including planning, authorization of expenses, and reporting. Ensures the management of Human Resources in accordance with the guidelines and the legal requirements in the host country.
