Standardization, Optimization and automation of systems
Perform routine systems admin functions to maintain all Windows, Linux /Virtualization servers
Recommend, design, and implement systems management and automation solutions
Design, configure, and tune highly-available Operating systems
Assist in implementing, executing, maintaining, and documenting proper DR and BC as well as high availability procedures
Participate in deployments, upgrades, and maintenance
Maintain the patch levels of all OS and application patches on all systems using automated systems

Key Activities:

Participate in IT planning activities for all projects.
Support training of end-users.
IBM Domino server configurations, VIOP SIP server management (LINUX), Backup servers, CISCO VOIP configurations, VPN tunneling, Firewall installations for all field offices
Managing more than 400 staff in 20 different field offices, 10 different projects USAID/DFID hosting their E-mails and domain
Conduct monthly knowledge sharing sessions with cross-project IT working group.
Manage, and monitor Pakistan projects infrastructure, including backup and recovery systems and data restore processes and Internet usage.
Supervise; provide guidance and mentor project IT staff.
Perform network installation and new office setups in the region.
Provide oversight and support for server, network, ISP hardware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting for all projects in Pakistan.
Identify areas where consolidation of services can provide savings in efforts and total costs. Including Internet Service Providers, and procurement of hardware.
Provide assistance in setting up, maintaining and troubleshooting user accounts, email and messaging systems.
Develop/update documentation.
Assist in auditing and updating internal policies and procedures.
Perform end user and system account audits.

Assist in overall maintenance of IT systems and network administration and assist IT Coordinator in maintenance of Windows server and CISCO equipment.
Installation & Configuration of: Servers, desktop/laptop hardware and software, and peripherals.
CISCO switches, VLAN and Access points Local Area Network, wireless network, peer-to-peer or client server architecture, as appropriate.
Windows 2003/2008 operating system, Domain and essential network services.

Maintenance, Repair & Security:

Perform preventative maintenance on all IRC computers and network resources.
Create backup solutions for office/individual users and provide the necessary training on the use of these back-up solutions.
Create and maintain IRC computer software/hardware inventory ensuring accuracy.
Create and maintain network file to include IP address, system access, email creation system etc.

Helpdesk Administration:

Supervise & maintain Helpdesk phone calls, email, register at all times for accurate reporting Ensure all Helpdesk Tickets are handled properly and timely Communicate with the users to keep them advised of open ticket status.

Training, Evaluation, & Testing:

Develop and implement user and support staff training, including training on basic care and maintenance of computers and equipment for users.

Update and manage all the projects on the database.

Identify missing documents and indicators set by monitoring team and ask program team to submit. Assist Monitoring manager to close the grants
Ensure that all project documentations are well administered and uploaded in compliance with the donor regulations and M&E project procedures.
Work closely with the Technical and M&E Managers for Grants to develop and maintain sub-award monitoring and evaluation tracking tools.

Responsible for maintenance/trouble shooting of Windows 2008 server.
Maintain & troubleshooting of office equipment i.e. Fax machine, PABX Exchange including intercom, Photocopier, LAN printers, Mobile Phones, Satellite phones etc.
Ensure that the IT related equipment’s are not misused and standard safety procedures are practiced while using them and according to PTI/IOM IT Standard.
