Summary

The production of basic chrome sulfate is based on the chemical reaction in which hexavalent chromium (ie. +6 oxidation state) in the form of sodium dichromate, is reduced to trivalent state (+3) by sulfur dioxide or sulfuric acid in the presence of sulfuric acid glucose.
There are two manufacturing processes for the production of basic chromium sulphate on the basis of reduction method.
 Organic reduction of sodium dichromate
 Inorganic reduction of sodium dichromate
