Summary

Over the past 15 years, I have gained extensive experience in the development sector, collaborating with national, international, and government organizations. My career has revolved around Emergency and Development Programs/Projects focusing on Food Security and Livelihoods, Climate Change, Carbon Footprint Calculation, Climate-Smart Agriculture, Nutrition, Agribusiness, Rural Development, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), and Women Empowerment.

My educational background includes a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics and a subsequent Postgraduate degree in Agriculture, specializing in Agricultural and Applied Economics, both from The University of Agriculture Peshawar, Pakistan.

In diverse cultural regions, I have worked on projects for prominent Donor organizations, including UN agencies, EU, FCDO, JICA, and USAID. My most recent role is with the International Rescue Committee (IRC), where I currently serve as the Climate Change and Resilient Adaptation Coordinator-Component Lead. In this capacity, my primary responsibilities involve.

·         formulating a climate change strategy,

·         integrating climate change considerations into various thematic areas and

·         enhancing the organization's capacity as a climate specialist organization.

Before my current role, I served as the Agriculture, Food Security, and Nutrition Component Leader at the Rural Support Programme Network (RSPN), overseeing the AFSN component of the European Union (EU)-funded "Programme for Improved Nutrition in Sindh (PINS)." Before that, I worked as the National Community Engagement Leader on bio-saline agriculture in a consultancy assignment with the Society of Facilitators and Trainers (SOFT), a partner of the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR). I provided comprehensive leadership in this role, covering conceptualization, planning, financial management, field execution, monitoring, evaluation, and research development.

My career also includes leading the Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) team as the Head of the FSL unit at Muslim Aid Pakistan. In this role, I managed microfinance programs for Micro and Small Enterprises, established Skill Development Centers, and oversaw short-term donor-funded projects, particularly in climate-smart agriculture, food security, and livelihood.

Additional career highlights include serving as a Consultant with Delphy International, focusing on Women's Empowerment through Climate-Smart Agriculture Value Chains and High-Efficiency Irrigation Systems in Sindh province. I also managed the "Sustainable Methods and Resilient Technology (SMaRT) Village" project at the Hashoo Foundation, emphasizing sustainable development across the Environment, Education, Health, and Agricultural Value Chains. At RAHMA Islamic Relief, I assumed the Project Development Communication Specialist role, effectively coordinating with national, international, and government departments for fundraising, proposal writing, and grant applications.

During my tenure with the USAID Agribusiness project, I held two significant roles: Program Manager and Manager of Grants and Contracts in the Close-Out department. The former role is more relevant to identifying, designing, and implementing project activities on innovative and climate resilience business models. In contrast, the latter part required meticulous management in closing 1900 grants in compliance with USAID regulations and ensuring proper documentation in the MIS for records.

In addition to these roles, I significantly contributed as Deputy Project Coordinator for Food Security and Livelihoods/Nutrition at ACTED International, working across Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan. My career began in 2009 with the Organization for Peace and Prosperity/UNFAO, where I served as a Program Manager, implementing community livelihood projects in response to the 2005 earthquake and alternate energy source projects in collaboration with Action Aid Pakistan.

I am a polyglot fluent in English, Urdu, Pashto, Punjabi, Hindko, Saraiki, and other local languages, enabling effective engagement with diverse communities at the grassroots level. My field experience has deepened my understanding of local cultures and traditions. Moreover, I am recognized for my strong teamwork and leadership skills, proficient in addressing and resolving team challenges at the grassroots level.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I am an avid reader and writer, focusing on current national and global issues, including climate change, global warming, human rights, and international political economy.

I have consistently demonstrated proficiency in writing proposals, concept notes, periodic reports, and annual reports throughout my career. Additionally, I am well-versed in various computer software tools used for daily reporting and analysis, including MS Office, Outlook, SPSS, MS Project, and ERP/IMIS.

Considering my extensive experience, educational background, and unwavering commitment to driving positive change, I am exceptionally suited for this role. I look forward to discussing how my qualifications align with your organization's mission and objectives. Thank you for considering my application. And I am enthusiastic about contributing my skills and experiences to your dynamic team.
