Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)/Disaster Risk Management (DRM) and building climate change resilience, UN-Habitat has started a project to promote disaster resilient school infrastructure in KP Province.Under the direct supervision of the Habitat Programme Manager (HPM) in Pakistan and overall supervision of the Human Settlements Officer (HSO) in the Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP), the incumbent will have the following duties and responsibilities:Technical advocacy and support the country office on activities in responding to COVID-19 in coordination with UNCT and other in-country cluster/working groups, Regional Office and other coordination mechanisms.
Provide guidance for supervising and monitoring all technical aspects of the project activities
Supervise site implementation activities and assist towards developing specifications for engineering goods and services
Formulate and manage hazard resistant technical trainings for the staff, implementing partners, local authorities and community and maintain the records of the events.
Analyze implementation work plans and make recommendations for improvements as necessary.
Review the findings of the technical assessment and develop the technical designs for retrofitting in schools accordingly
Lead the process of development of priority schema for the Education department KP.
Select schools for retrofitting purposes.
Ensure accurate record keeping, construction inspections, quality audits and records of actual quantities maintained, drawings are kept up to date and variations and addendums are issued correctly.
Lead the Development of retrofitting, repair and strengthening guidelines.
Ensure that the guidelines are vetted and endorsed by all the relevant departments.
Prepare project technical information, drawings, specifications and BOQs as required.
Travel to the field as required in consultation with the Project Manager and the team.

The project was consisting on assist the flood affected Household in emergency WASH in district Charsadda and Nowshera, the aims and objectives of the project with title of “Emergency Water, Sanitation and hygiene (WASH)”to Flood Affected People of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.
Ø Participates in the formulation and development of the Emergency WASH Project Objectives, Water Supply and Sanitation Components including rehabilitation of existing water system, latrines construction and other civil work in the Project.
Ø Develop/preparing of different engineering reports; develop project methodologies for civil work and identification of new approaches for improving relevant to Emergency WASH assistance.
Ø Address the Communities regarding WASH assistance in facilitating them about health concerns and make strategy for implementation accordingly.
Ø Assist the Project Manager in Preparation of drawing, design for rehabilitation of water supply scheme and other proposed civil work.
Ø Technically facilitate the team in conducting on project survey, assessment and other all hardware project activities.
Ø Assist the Project Manager in ensuring the quality and quantity of proposed drinking water supply schemes including other civil work.
Ø Develop detailed PC I for works as per project document based on Market Rate System (MRS).

The role is responsible to conduct repair and rehabilitation work in target school in coordination with PCs, Parent Teachers Committees and school head teachers.
Based on these details, R&R Consultant will be responsible to deliver following:
Coordinate with PC, procurement community mobilizers and PTCs to assess and list school needs
Identify areas in schools that require repair and rehabilitation in target districts
Conduct school assessment and identify need based rehabilitation work in target schools in collaboration with RI staff, head teacher and representative of PTCs.
Based on assessment and measurements, prepare cost estimates (Bills of Quantities) of target schools.
Endorse repair and rehabilitation work from PTCs, School Head teachers, Supply chain department and PCs
Initiate procurement for selection of vendors by preparing procurement requests
Participate in bid-analysis and provide technical assistance to procurement committee
Identify schools for construction / rehabilitation of Hand Washing points in schools where feasible. Prepare work details for hand washing points.
Identify, evaluate and provide technical assistance in procurement of contractors, services / supplies for rehabilitation and repair work.
Verify quantities i-e BoQs Vs actual work and payment invoices from vendors.
Manage multiple construction sites at same time and provide necessary technical assistance.
Monitor and supervise repair and maintenance work on sites.
Provide technical support to vendor and skill workers on site
Ensure the quality of work according to vendor agreement and RI’s standards
Provide school wise quality pictures before, during and after from the same angle.
Obtain completion certificates duly endorsed from School HT and PTCs

The project was consisting on (Sanitation Up-Scaling Program Through PATS In District Mardan & Takht Bhai (Rural PATS-UNICEF)), Rehabilitation of DWSS, Providing WASH Facilities in Schools & BHUs, Provision of EVIs Latrine, Latrine for PWDs, MHM Friendly Latrine & Establishment of Water Testing Lab in Govt Line Department.
Responsible for all engineering and technical works including schedule, plan, forecast, resource and managing of all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.
To facilitate in training of Masson and Entrepreneurs on Low Cost Latrine Construction
To oversee the design, construction and rehabilitation of water, latrines, drainage and other relevant WASH facilities meeting the approved public health standards

The project was consisting on (Fata Economic Revitalization Programme in Tribal District khybar/Bara (UNDP-FERP)), Rehabilitation of Community Based Markets, Provision of WASH Facilities in Public Places through Community Organizations. Establish/Reactivate and strengthen Community Organizations and Provide opportunities for social cohesion 30 COs.
3.The project was consisting on (Stabilization through Inclusive Livelihoods in Tribal District Orakzai (UNDP-STIL-TD)),Rehabilitation of Community Physical Infrastructure, (CPI)50 schemes, Establish/Reactivate and strengthen Community Organizations and Provide opportunities for social cohesion 50 CO, Market-based Employment Opportunities Provided for Youth through Skills Training.
