Responsible for managing, supervising and assisting the nursing staff, providing administrative support and patient care.
Help hold the department together by providing guidance to less experienced nurses.
Making assignments and requesting additional staff if needed.
Regular duties include directing the admission, discharge and general flow of patients, and assigning nurses and support staff to patients.
Assessing, intervening and stabilizing a variety of traumatic and ill patient.
Understanding triage, which is a method of prioritizing injuries based on medical need
Assesses and diagnoses the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and determines the ER's priority of care based on patient needs and resources available
Dealing patients who have life-threatening issues, they often encounter end-of-life.
Assessing a patient’s condition, planning and implementing patient care plans treating wounds and providing advanced life support.
Assisting physicians in performing procedures.
Observing and recording patient vital signs.
Ensuring that ventilators, monitors and other types of medical equipment function properly.
Administering intravenous fluids and medications.
Ordering diagnostic tests. Collaborating with fellow members of the critical care team.
Assists in emergency nursing procedures necessary for prompt control of changes in patient’s physical condition.
Able to perform the techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation accurately and effectively.
Keeps abreast of changing techniques in critical care nursing and maintains a high level of expertise in critical care.
Accepts responsibilities delegated by the Head Nurse or team leader and evaluates the nursing care provided in the area assigned.
Manages Advance Cardiac life support.
Provide care and make accurate assessments in high-stress and possibly life-threatening situations.
Time management is crucial in this job along with triage, emergency nurses must quickly ascertain the following information from incoming patients.
Stabilizing the major fracture & multiple fractures until Doctor arrive.
Assesses and diagnoses the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and determines the ER's priority of care based on patient needs and resources available
Providing education and support to patient families.
Manage immediate needs and provide direction on where to send the patient.
