Secours Islamique France (SIF) is a Non-Governmental Organization of international solidarity based in France. Founded in 1991, SIF is a non-profit and non-political organization that intends to help, bring relief and protect the lives of those threatened by natural disasters, armed conflicts or economic collapse. ROLE IN THE ORGANIZATION

Livelihood & Distribution Assistant will be based in Tharparkar Mithi, Sindh and will work under the direct supervision of the Livelihood & Distribution Officer. He/she will be responsible for looking after the implementation of the project in the field and will be the focal person for ongoing livelihood activities in Mithi and adjoining areas.

Objective 1: Ensure Smooth Implementation of the Project Activities

Activities:

  • Organize and support running of livelihoods activities in the respective base. 
  • Support beneficiary’s identification and selection processes together with Base Livelihoods Teams. 
  • Active participation to field assessments (logistic organization, identification of needs, monitoring). 
  • Assist in the registration of target families at branch level working closely with Branch Livelihoods Teams to ensure data is collected and is recorded within the livelihoods programming to be implemented. 
  • To facilitate community mobilization, meetings and training during community-led Livelihood activities. 
  • To support the Distribution and Livelihood Officer in the verification of the beneficiaries to ensure the identification and selection of the most vulnerable population. 
  • To work closely with the Distribution and Livelihood Officer to follow up on the implementation of planned community activities. 
  • To organize the community for the implementation of training, social mobilization activities and distributions. 
  • To collect information to ensure the surveillance of the livelihood situation in the area of implementation of the project, when required. 
  • To collect the information required during assessments and surveys. 
  • To support the preparation of documentation required for the implementation of field activities. 
  • To participate actively in initial training sessions and debriefing. 
  • Contribute to the identification of supplier for Voucher Programmes through fair and transparent process. 
  • Participate in the distribution of beneficiary and traders ID cards and Vouchers. 
  • Organize venue for training and sensitization of session for traders, beneficiaries and other stakeholders.  
  • Make field arrangements for planned visits to project locations. 
  • Fully participation in Ramadan food, vocational and business development training, EID gift and Qurbani Meat distribution. 
  • To ensure the quality and quantity of material provided to beneficiaries. 

Objective 2: Coordination Activities:

  • Coordinate (or assist respective base Livelihoods Teams in coordinating) activities with local authorities, international community members, other implementing actors and partners at the local level. 
  • Keep close coordination with Community leaders. 
  • Maintain coordination and appropriate information sharing and communication lines with partners and stakeholders at the field level to avoid duplication and maximize synergies. 
  • Regularly monitor project activities and provide timely inputs and feedback to the livelihood officer. 

 

Objective 3: Coordination Activities:

  • Timely submission of daily and weekly Progress updates to the Distribution and Livelihood Officer. 
  • Compile and maintain proper record keeping of Project activities in hard files and soft databases. 
  • Responsible for maintaining records of internal and external communication including emails, letters, purchase requisitions and other relevant documents. 
  • Contribute to data entry as and when needed.
