Key Responsibilities:

Teaching:

  • Design, deliver, and assess undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Periodontology.
  • Prepare and deliver lectures, seminars, and laboratory sessions.
  • Supervise and mentor dental students in clinical and research settings.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching methods, including the use of technology and simulation.
  • Participate in curriculum development and program evaluation.

Clinical Practice:

  • Provide high-quality patient care in the field of Periodontology, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and surgical procedures.
  • Maintain a high standard of clinical excellence and patient care.
  • Adhere to all ethical and professional standards of dental practice.

Research:

  • Conduct independent research in areas of Periodontology, such as implant dentistry, regenerative procedures, or periodontal diseases.
  • Supervise research projects of students and residents.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Secure external funding for research projects (if applicable).

Service:

  • Participate in departmental and university service activities.
  • Serve on committees and contribute to the academic and administrative functions of the department.
  • Engage in community outreach and public service activities related to oral health.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • BDS or equivalent degree from an accredited dental school.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in Periodontics.
  • Board certification in Periodontology by the Pakistan Dental Council (or equivalent).

Experience:

  • Postdoctoral experience in a university or hospital setting is preferred.
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring dental students.
  • Experience in clinical research and publication.

Skills:

  • Clinical Expertise:
    • Proficiency in all aspects of periodontics, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and surgical procedures (e.g., flap surgery, bone grafting, implant placement).
  • Teaching & Pedagogy:
    • Excellent teaching skills, including course design, delivery, and assessment.
    • Ability to mentor and guide students effectively.
  • Research Skills:
    • Ability to conduct independent research, analyze data, and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
    • Experience with grant writing and research funding.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal, and presentation skills.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, colleagues, and students.
  • Professionalism:
    • Maintain the highest ethical and professional standards in all aspects of clinical practice, teaching, and research.
