ABOUT ACTED PAKISTAN:

ACTED is a non-governmental organization with headquarters in Paris, founded in 1993. Independent, private and not-for-profit, ACTED respects a strict political and religious impartiality and operates according to the principles of non-discrimination and transparency. ACTED has been present in Pakistan since 1993. ACTED Pakistan programmes range from short-term emergency responses to recovery and rehabilitation, as well as longer-term development initiatives. ACTED strategy is to target vulnerable communities affected by natural and conflict-related disasters as well as lack of socio-economic development.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide recommendations to the organization and stakeholders ensure Gender, Equity, and Social Inclusion (GESI) is incorporated into all program activities;
  • Provide feedback to help the evaluation better capture GESI-related data;
  • Provide GESI-focused feedback and comments on activity designs, statements of work, and draft reports;
  • Participate in discussions about the impact evaluation and the GESI perspective;
  • Review instruments and tools to ensure that UNICEF’s GESI-related objectives are being met;
  • Develop and recommend strategies to help UNICEF and ACTED meet their GESI objectives;
  • Design, facilitate, and implementing communications workshops, training events, and other capacity building events;
  • Assist with management of regular processes and reporting, including weekly notes, quarterly and annual reports, work planning, and client reporting;
  • Draft, review, and edit selected sections of program deliverables;
  • Identify project management technical and operational bottlenecks and problem-solve solutions proactively;
  • Develop follow-up lists and schedules following planning meetings with UNICEF and other stakeholders;
  • Support technical staff as needed in the collection and storage of information including management and security of internal and external folders;
  • Use Excel, Microsoft Project, or similar software to develop, manage, and update work plan timelines;
  • Support the recruitment and onboarding short-term consultants by channeling technical requirements and assisting the operational staff during peak load periods; and
  • Carry out other tasks developed in coordination with or assigned by the Project Manager.

  • Support the development of capacity-building plans for Teachers and CMC members
  • An interest in the well-being and safeguarding of children and child protection matters.
  • A willingness to challenge opinion, where necessary, and to drive the child protection agenda.
  • The confidence and good judgment to manage situations relating to the poor conduct/behavior of others towards a child.
  • Attend relevant training to fulfill the role of Club Child Protection & GESI Officer.
  • Coordination with relevant authorities to ensure maximum buy-in for field interventions.
  • To roll out and Monitor all the activities related to the CRS- Core referral system at the center level
  • To support and respond all the incidents at the community level.

  • To conduct field monitoring visits by following a weekly action plan
  • To submit fortnight and monthly program progress report
  • To participate in SMC/teachers parent meetings
  • To assess students to check students’ performance
  • To check the learning centers\' condition and learning environment
  • To conduct meetings with CMC/parents according to SG and CP needs 
  • A bachelor’s degree in social sciences or a relevant field;
  • At least 5 years of experience working in the development field in Sindh.
  • Exposure to monitoring and evaluation is required; involvement in internal project monitoring and evaluation is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills, including a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate strategies or plans to stakeholders and co-workers.
  • Fluency in English and Sindhi preferred 
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Attend external coordination meetings upon request from the Project Manager/ Area Coordinator;

The country programme comprises of four key pillars: Pillar 1 – Humanitarian assistance – Through this component, ACTED supports the emergency and early recovery needs of communities following disasters. In recent years this has included support for communities affected by floods, earthquakes and the complex emergency; Pillar 2 – Income generation and sustainable livelihoods – ACTED has extensive experience in this sector including market-oriented vocational trainings, basic skills development, as well as on and off-farm livelihood assistance; Pillar 3 – Social cohesion and access to basic services – ACTED improves access to basic services through a range of measures including support for educational institutions, community infrastructure and local governance. Social cohesion is a key component to ensuring equitable service provision. ACTED’s interventions include the establishment of local representation bodies as well as supporting the rights of women, minorities and marginalized groups; Pillar 4 – Environmental protection and community resilience – This pillar aims to mitigate some of the effects of recurrent disasters, climate change and environmental degradation.
