Faisalabad being the third biggest city having a population figure of 54, 29547 with an annual growth rate of 2.5 % occupy central position in the economy of Pakistan due to its well-established textile sector. The city with a very high density of population and number of resource generating units/institutions still seem to be deprived of basic amenities of the life for its residents.

In spite of the fact that government has made heavy investments in the social sector and has made some drastic steps to improve health and hygiene conditions in the country, but still the situation is not appreciable. The intensity of disease out brakes like Hepatitis A,B,C,D &,E, HIV/AIDS etc. has gone to an extent that it can be declared as an alarming situation. All over the country various governmental and non-governmental organizations with the assistance of national and international agencies are providing service to the people to fight against these diseases.
