We are seeking an experienced and visionary Development Team Manager to spearhead our software development efforts and drive the technical excellence of our projects, including the flagship "Captivate 360" initiative. This pivotal role demands a seasoned leader with a proven track record in managing diverse technical teams, crafting innovative software architectures, and delivering high-quality solutions that meet both client and business expectations. The successful candidate will oversee frontend, backend, and QA teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment with strategic goals. Initially, we may work remotely, leveraging digital tools to coordinate, but as Design Savvy establishes its physical presence, this position will transition to an office-based role in Lahore. Exceptional English communication skills are essential for effective interaction with local talent and international stakeholders, including our UK-based directors.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire frontend, backend, and QA teams, cultivating a high-performance culture rooted in collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Define clear performance objectives, conduct quarterly evaluations, and identify skill gaps to design tailored training programs.
  • Resolve team conflicts, facilitate cross-functional communication, and maintain alignment with project deadlines and company priorities.
  • Recruit and onboard top technical talent to build a robust and cohesive team.

Technical Architecture & Strategy:

  • Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance software systems tailored to project requirements and future growth.
  • Champion industry best practices in coding standards, automated testing, and deployment workflows (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, code reviews).
  • Assess and integrate cutting-edge technologies—such as AI, cloud computing (AWS/Azure), or microservices—to enhance product capabilities and competitiveness.
  • Ensure technical documentation is comprehensive and up-to-date for team reference and knowledge transfer.

Project Oversight:

  • Manage the full project lifecycle, from requirement analysis and resource planning to development, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate closely with directors, business analysts, and external stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable technical solutions.
  • Proactively identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and resolve technical roadblocks to keep projects on schedule and within scope.
  • Monitor team productivity and project milestones, providing regular updates to senior management.

Quality Assurance & Standards:

  • Establish and enforce rigorous QA processes to guarantee software reliability, security, and user satisfaction across all deliverables.
  • Develop and oversee testing frameworks, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing, to catch defects early and ensure robustness.
  • Review and approve final deliverables, ensuring they meet performance benchmarks and client specifications before release.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing post-release feedback and implementing lessons learned into future projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred but not mandatory).
  • Minimum of 7 years of hands-on software development experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity within a tech-driven environment.
  • Extensive expertise in software architecture, system design, and modern development methodologies, with a focus on scalable solutions.
  • Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, and hands-on experience with frameworks like React, Node.js, or Django.
  • Strong command of QA tools (e.g., Selenium, JIRA, TestRail) and project management frameworks (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban).
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams, with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Exceptional English communication skills (written and verbal) to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences and collaborate internationally.
  • Adaptability to manage teams remotely using tools like Slack, Zoom, and Monday.com, with readiness to transition to an office-based role in Lahore.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and DevOps practices is a strong plus.
