Reporting to: Manager Communication. 

Introduction:

Human Development Foundation (HDF), founded in 1997, with a vision to help people help themselves by a group of visionary Pakistani American doctors and philanthropists. Over two decades, our quest for positive social change remains at the forefront and we, at the foundation, work tirelessly towards human development and poverty eradication. HDF is helping its partner communities in 34 districts of Pakistan through its holistic approach and integrated program model. Social Capital Development, Education & literacy, Primary Healthcare, Livelihood & Food Security and Sustainable Environment are key pillars of our program.

Position Objective: Communication Officer must develop an in-depth understanding about the organization, its historical background, strategic priorities, goals and objectives, scope and scale of work, program models, advocacy and campaigns, internal ways of working, outreach and teams’ dynamics, information about existing and evolving key donors, supporters and networks, KPIs, and Unique Features/HDF’s Difference. A Strategic Communications Plan has been signed off by the Board which needs to be understood and fully internalized as the guiding document. Following are 4 critical dimensions of the JD of Communication Officer. 

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

  •  Develop, support and promote company goals, including message development, social media content creation and media outreach.
  • Develop and produce engaging, high-quality content across various platforms to align with organization strategy, drive audience engagement, and support marketing objectives.
  • Handle social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram by creating engaging and creative posts that align with organizational strategy.
  • Develop and disseminate public relations materials that increase our visibility among stakeholders.
  • Identify target audiences and create strategies to effectively engage them.
  • Write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other marketing material that communicates the organization's activities.
  • Develop and implement Communications strategies and plans.
  • Support program staff in developing case studies and ‘success stories’ to showcase the impact of HDF programs.
  • Ensure development of high-quality content and dissemination of internal and external monthly / quarterly newsletters along with standardized deliverables approved under SCP.
  •  To build and maintain excellent relationships with relevant journalists and broadcasters.
  •  Collaborate with colleagues/other departments of HDF to generate and create innovate digital and multimedia products that will appeal to specific audiences. Assist the Graphic Designer to draft a range of visual materials for online use. Develop targeted social media campaigns for HDF’s products, lead cause-driven Call to Action (CTAs) campaigns and ensure observance of strategically significant local and international days. Package and promote HDF’s activities and learning in a strategic, appropriate and timely manner.
  • Develop a media outreach plan to identify and build relations with a network of traditional and specialized media and maintain these relations to increase HDF’s media profile.
  • Keep the best quality communications products, online and offline content updated and readily available
  • Record, document and store all HDF programs video, pictures and reports.
  • Develop quarterly newsletter on key activities of HDF.
  • Act as media focal point for HDF.
  • Provide support in production of capacity building communication material e.g. toolkits, publications, documentary, brochures etc.
  • Manage social media accounts for HDF, including Facebook, Twitter, etc.
  • Provide support in updating official website on need bases.
  •  Designs and implements media campaign for Project activities.
  • Drafts press briefings and press releases.
  • Supports program team in development and printing of training material and training guide.
  • Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

 Minimum Qualification:

BS in Mass communication /Master in Mass communication. At least 2-3 year working experience.
