We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with expertise in taxation to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting practices and a deep understanding of tax regulations, ensuring compliance and optimization of tax-related matters for the organization. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing tax filings, and offering strategic advice for tax efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance: Manage and oversee the preparation, submission, and timely filing of all tax returns (income, corporate, sales, VAT/GST, etc.) ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws.
Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax strategies that maximize tax benefits and minimize tax liabilities while maintaining compliance.
Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data to identify tax-saving opportunities and assess financial risks.
Accounting Duties: Maintain accurate financial records, manage accounts payable/receivable, and oversee general ledger entries and reconciliations.
Audit Coordination: Prepare for and manage tax audits, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and readily available for review.
Reporting: Generate detailed financial reports, tax documentation, and present findings to senior management, providing strategic insights for business decisions.
Legislative Awareness: Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations, advising the management team on any potential impact.
Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, integrity, and compliance within the team.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a strong emphasis on taxation.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills.
In-depth knowledge of tax regulations, laws, and filing procedures.
Experience with tax preparation software (e.g., TurboTax, TaxSlayer).

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
