PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Project aims to enhance immunization activities in high-risk union councils of selected districts through community engagement and strengthened service delivery, including primary healthcare and the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI). The project focuses on deploying mobile health units, identifying zero-dose and defaulter children to improve vaccine coverage and reduce vaccine-preventable diseases in areas with low immunization rates. Collaborating with key stakeholders such as the EPI Program, health departments, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), and local communities, the initiative emphasizes raising awareness, ensuring equitable vaccine delivery, and addressing immunization gaps to achieve sustainable health outcomes.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The MEAL and Data Assistant will be responsible for monitoring field activities and health facilities, including EPI site monitoring and routine data processes. This role ensures data quality, facilitates effective information exchange, and supports the organization's MEAL and data needs through reporting and analysis tasks. Key responsibilities include developing monitoring checklists and data collection tools, training staff on their use, and contributing to the documentation and dissemination of project-related content.

RESPONSIBILITIES

DESCRIPTION

1.     Field monitoring and verification

  • Develop M&E Plan and monitoring tools/checklists
  • Conduct and coordinate field work for all monitoring and evaluation activities.
  • Development of M&E action plans based on the visit findings.
  • Produce reports on M&E findings and prepare presentations based on M&E data.

2.     Documenting Feedback and learning from the field

  • Conduct field-based and health facility level client satisfaction surveys on regular bases.
  • Document project learnings, best practices and sharing with other field teams
  • Manage community feedback and complaint mechanisms to timely response to the issues or concerns raised by community.

3.     Indicators tracking and reporting

  • Collect data on a regular basis to measure achievement against performance indicators.
  • Ensure the quality of data collected for all monitoring and evaluation purposes in line with the M&E framework.
  • Produce weekly and monthly list of defaulter’s children with field teams for tracing in the community

4.     Mapping of high and low performance UCs

  • Maintain a dashboard for all EPI and health facilities sites
  • Timely sharing the low performance UCs/EPI centers with district team for developing action plans

5.     Data management compliance

  • Collection, entry, and validation of EPI and health data from all project sites and mobile units.
  • Develop digital tools/software for data real time data collection
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of data/reports through DHIS and EPI NEIR software as per donor and organizational requirements.
  • Train project staff like outreach and health facility teams on data recording & reporting and conduct refresher to address skill gaps.

6.     Data analysis and Reporting

  • Keep track of reporting tools/stationery
  • Ensure its timely availability to support uninterrupted data recording and reporting processes.
  • Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly reports
  • Develop trend analysis on key performance indicators
  • Visualization of data on map, charts for reporting purposes
  • Monthly and quarterly meetings with field team to document challenges.
