TSFP Assistant/Team Leader Khairpur Mirs, Sindh, WFP’s Integrated Supplementary Feeding and CBT Program for 6 – 59 months children, Pregnant and Breastfeeding Women (CMAM) Community Management of Acute Malnutrition. (15 May to 15 November 2023)
Nutritional Assessment: Spearhead regular assessment for children (6-59), pregnant and breastfeeding women using specializing tools like MUAC.
Counselling Leadership: Oversee the IYCF Counselor in providing bespoke guidance to mothers and caregivers about Infant and Young Child Feeding Young Child Feeding practices, accentuating the significance of exclusive breastfeeding, complementary feeding, and dietary variety.
Healthcare Referral Management: Guide referrals of expectant and breastfeeding mothers to ANC and PNC services, ensuring they avail quality healthcare pre and post-delivery.
Safe Birth Advocacy: Lead initiatives promoting hospital births, highlighting the associated reduced risks for both mother and child.
Supplemental Nutrition Distribution: Organize the distribution of nutritional products like Achamum, Wawamum, and Maamta to the right beneficiaries.
Growth Monitoring and Oversight: Directly supervise the consistent monitoring of the growth trajectories of children and mothers, detecting malnutrition symptoms early on.
IYCF Awareness Drives: Coordinate and lead community IYCF sessions, aiming to elevate community awareness about the right feeding strategies.
Community Relations: Liaise with community stakeholders, health staff, and volunteers, fostering a community-centric approach to nutrition and behavior adaptation.
Data Management and Reporting: Supervise accurate data collection on all fronts, from nutritional evaluations to counseling records, ensuring timely and precise report submissions to the upper management.
Team Synergy: Establish a cohesive working environment with a team inclusive of an IYCF Counselor, an SM, and a Crowd Controller, ensuring seamless operations and a comprehensive approach to healthcare.
Emergency Readiness: Ensure the team is always on standby for rapid mobilization in case of nutritional crises or disease outbreaks.
Training and Development: Elevate the competencies of community health reps and volunteers, focusing especially on nutrition and IYCF protocols.
Compliance and Protocols: Uphold and ensure team adherence to stringent standards and guidelines set forth by WFP and related entities.
TSFP Children Cash Grant: Manage and oversee the distribution of the TSFP Children Cash Grant to eligible beneficiaries.
Miscellaneous Tasks: Efficiently handle and delegate any other assignments or responsibilities as directed by the Program management.

Coordinate trucking arrangements and other logistics and material requirement for the planned commodity distributions to ensure timely delivery of commodities to distribution sites/points.
Ensures distribution timetable and informs recipients/beneficiaries through the community leaders and other possible means.
Develop strategy of community interaction for the social organizers and hold first dialogues meetings with the communities.
To work with the community to ensure that they are responding to identified needs and have the full participation of the community in food distribution.
Provide support and supervision to distribution staff to ensure successful implementation of the program
Reporting of issues and their possible solutions to the project coordinator.
Monitor food distribution activities to ensure that it is managed within the timeline provided and as per objectives.
Ensure the safety & security and dignity of the recipients at distribution points.
Taking precautionary measures for properly organized distribution through mob controlling and que formation
Support and assist Project Coordinator in data and reports compilation.

To facilitate Social Mobilization Officer/District Nutrition Officer to prepare Micro-plan for CHWs
To facilitate in identification CHWs in uncovered Area
To implement the community health services package devised in coordination with district government health department of Khairpur and monitor its implementation
To guide the CHW’s in the implementation of the set action plan. Carry regular supportive coordination with CHWs
To conduct regular visits to CHWs in their communities to assist in their work
To assist CHWs for the information of Mother Support Groups (MSGs) and ensure regular awareness raising sessions
Ensure enrollment and follow-up of SAM cases at OTP sites/Health Facilities to avoid defaulters/absentees
To participate in all kind of mentor trainings and refreshers as well as community gatherings by the program
To collection and recording of data from CHWs and report to district office
Any other task assign by supervisors

To act as liaison between formal health system and community health workers
To facilitate in identification CHWs in uncovered Area
To guide the CHW’s in the implementation of the set action plan. Carry regular supportive coordination with CHWs
To conduct regular visits to CHWs in their communities to assist in their work

To make Monthly Activity Report with CHWs and submit to supervisor

Help Polio Workers to improve their own work performance continuously.
Encourages open, two-way communication, and building team approaches that facilitate problem-solving
Monitors are encouraged to focus on suspected problem areas, like High-rise apartments – Minority communities – Remote and scattered rural dwellings – Nomad Camps – Brick Factories – Populations at boundaries ( UC to UC & Towns To Towns) – Area with confirmed cases of Polio
Support and monitor logistic distribution among teams and supervisor
Monitor cold chain equipment and management during distribution
Ensure and support sweeping activities in poorly covered and missed areas
Take house-hold clusters from different teams and areas
Support and monitor to EPI Vaccinations
Support to AFP and Zero Dose children verifications
