The Assistant MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) Officer supports the implementation of MEAL systems various projects to ensure effective tracking of progress, impact, and learning. The role involves data collection, analysis, reporting, and supporting accountability mechanisms to enhance program quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)
Assist in developing and implementing project-specific M&E frameworks, tools, and indicators.
Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities, ensuring compliance with objectives.
Collect quantitative and qualitative data through surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions.
Maintain databases and ensure accurate data entry for timely reporting.
2. Accountability & Feedback Mechanisms
Support the establishment of community feedback mechanisms (e.g., complaint boxes, hotlines) to enhance accountability.
Document and escalate beneficiary feedback to relevant project teams for corrective action.
Ensure adherence to humanitarian principles (CHS, SPHERE) in project implementation.
3. Reporting & Documentation
Assist in preparing periodic project reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) for donors and stakeholders.
Contribute to case studies, success stories, and lessons learned documentation.
Maintain proper filing systems for MEAL-related documents (soft and hard copies).
4. Capacity Building & Learning
Train field staff and partners on MEAL tools, data collection methods, and reporting.
Participate in project review meetings and share findings to improve program quality.
Support evaluations, assessments, and research studies as needed.
Community Engagement: Engage with local communities to understand their needs, challenges, and aspirations. Build strong relationships and rapport with community members, leaders, and stakeholders.
Program Planning and Implementation: Plan, develop, and implement social development programs and projects in collaboration with community members and other relevant organizations. These initiatives may focus on various areas such as education, healthcare, livelihoods, women empowerment, or environmental sustainability.
Awareness and Capacity Building: Conduct awareness campaigns and training sessions to enhance the knowledge and skills of community members. This may include topics such as health and hygiene practices, education, vocational training, or community organizing.
Mobilization and Participation: Mobilize community members and encourage active participation in program activities. Foster a sense of ownership and empowerment among the community to drive sustainable development.
Networking and Collaboration: Establish and maintain partnerships with local organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to leverage resources and support for community development initiatives. Collaborate with these entities to maximize the impact of interventions.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor the progress and effectiveness of implemented programs, ensuring that goals and objectives are met. Collect data, conduct assessments, and evaluate the impact of interventions on the target communities.
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare reports, documentation, and case studies to effectively communicate the outcomes and impact of social development initiatives. Maintain accurate records of activities, achievements, and challenges encountered.
Advocacy and Social Change: Advocate for the rights and interests of the community, representing their concerns to relevant authorities and decision- makers. Promote social justice, equality, and inclusivity through grassroots initiatives and community-led campaigns.
Sensitization and Conflict Resolution: Address sensitive social issues within the community, promote dialogue, and facilitate conflict resolution processes when necessary. Promote understanding, tolerance, and harmony among community members.

Introduce the project concept and develop a long-term vision of the project in the proposed communities;
To identify potential community stakeholders;
To assist community members to identify needs and to generate solutions, identifying priority issues and to analyses their problems according to project; Undertake regular field supervisory visits e.g. filed visits to selected communities and others stakeholders for their feedback;
Help in weekly/monthly review and planning meeting of Staff and prepare monthly work-plan against project; and
Participate/ implement activities at field level according to work plan
Responsible for organizing grass root level peoples and organize them to make local development.
Responsible for managing client meetings. Give them chance to come on stage and spoke about their problems. In this way local peoples improve their selves.
Reporting Head of Department DPO (District Programme Officer). Report them about all activities done in local meetings and their views about their development activities.
