University Management System

University Management System Research Group conducts research and development activities for university automation system based on OBE (Objective Based Education) embraced by PEC (Pakistan Engineering Council) in 2014. With the approval of adoption of OBE in UET by Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid, it was decided to make a system for university that should primarily include documentation of all academic activities like class teaching, students mentoring, examination papers etc. The standards and measures that govern this documentation are enumerated by the university itself within the parameters of accrediting body i.e. PEC. This system is specifically designed for upcoming sessions in UET i.e from 2015 onward. To make this system secure, robust, reliable, and professional product, an open source framework is used which is “Odoo”. UMS team has adopted this framework after continuous efforts on research and experimentation of development of this system in DotNet and another open source framework “Kuali Rice”. System was deployed in university in September 2015 after development of its initial stages so that departments may be able to add data to system before starting registration of 2015 session, and now it is under further development and analysis phases.
