• Assessing patients’ conditions, planning, and implementing using care plans.
• Administration and management of life support, intravenous fluids, and medications.
• Assisting in setting up and performing procedures e.g., ventilator settings, Endotracheal
intubation, extubating of critically ill, insertion of central venous catheters, dialysis catheters,
tracheostomies, and underwater seal drainage system (Chest Drains).
• Observing, interpreting, and recording patients’ vital signs (Blood Pressure, Pulse Rate, O2
Saturations, Central venous pressure, and Electrocardiogram).
• Ensure equipment functionality; Ventilators, ABG Machines, Cardiac monitors, Syringe Pumps,
Infusion Pumps, and 12 lead ECG Machines.
• Participate in the management of critically ill Patients requiring specialized management e.g.,
continuous renal replacement therapies, inotropic support, myocardial infarction patients, septic
shock/ cardiogenic shock, poisoning, and traumatic brain injuries.
• Interpreting and evaluating diagnostic tests for patients for individualized care and Management.
• Preserving patients’ confidentiality on the documents and information and being a patient’s
advocate.
• Assist in the unit and hospital administrative duties and give progressive reports.
• Giving preventive vaccines and health education pertaining to the vaccines.
