Fault Detection & Analysis in Transmission Line ( SImulation Based)

Most of the faults in Power system occur in Transmission Line. The detection and classification of faults in Transmission Line has a substantial role to prevent the system from interruptions, equipment damage and Power System collapse. In this work the fault detection and classification in Transmission Line is under consideration to detect the fault in Transmission Line by using software MATLAB Simulink for simulation on by applying wavelet transform. The fault in transmission line is just like a healthy human affected by disease so he cannot work properly unless detection of disease and then cured and then cured. There are 11 different types of short circuit faults i.e symmetrical and asymmetrical. In this thesis research work we try to detect each fault by creating each of them in Simulink model and check current behaviour which help us in analysis of these faults. The analysis of different types of fault by using the Wave menu tool in MATLAB gives feature extraction and Statistics, these results are helpful and reliable for classification of faults in Power System.
