Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures for the production of confectionery, biscuits, nimko, and snacks.
2. Conduct regular inspections and audits of raw materials, production processes, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
3. Perform routine quality checks and tests on products, including sensory evaluation, physical attributes, and packaging integrity.
4. Collaborate with procurement teams to evaluate and approve suppliers based on quality and safety criteria.
5. Investigate and resolve quality issues, non-conformities, and customer complaints in a timely manner.
6. Maintain accurate records of quality assurance activities, test results, and corrective actions taken.
7. Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality control procedures and best practices.
8. Monitor and enforce adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and other relevant food safety standards.
9. Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in food quality and safety practices.
10. Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
11. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, R&D, and logistics, to drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize quality processes.
12. Prepare and maintain documentation required for certifications and quality assurance programs.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or related field.
2. Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within the food industry, preferably in confectionary, biscuits, nimko, or snacks.
3. Strong understanding of food safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.
4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
5. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and quality management software.
7. Certification in Food Safety (e.g., HACCP, SQF, ISO 22000) is a plus.
8. Familiarity with statistical tools and quality improvement methodologies is desirable.
9. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to drive change and continuous improvement initiatives.
10. Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
