Department: Sales & Marketing

Reports To: Director Sales and marketing

You will be responsible for leading and motivating a sales team to achieve ambitious sales targets within the veterinary laboratory services sector. This role involves developing and implementing effective sales strategies, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.      

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy & Planning:
    • Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to achieve and exceed sales targets.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the veterinary market.
    • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and refine strategies.
    • Set sales quotas and goals for the sales team.
  • Sales Team Leadership:
    • Recruit, hire, train, and mentor sales representatives.
    • Provide ongoing coaching and support to the sales team to improve performance.
    • Motivate and inspire the sales team to achieve their goals.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key veterinary clients and potential customers.
    • Conduct regular client visits and meetings to understand their needs and build trust.
    • Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively.
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Sales Operations:
    • Manage the sales pipeline and ensure accurate forecasting and reporting.
    • Track and analyze sales performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
    • Prepare and present sales reports to management.
    • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., marketing, operations) to support sales efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. DVM, Poultry Sciences).
  • Proven experience in sales management, preferably in the poultry industry.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of veterinary diagnostic testing and laboratory services.
  • Ability to travel as needed.   

  Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in sales management in the veterinary diagnostic or laboratory industry.
  • Experience working with sales force
  • Knowledge of veterinary poultry practices and procedures.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in developing and implementing marketing strategies.
