Till the 1960s, in Pakistan, Pfizer worked in Karachi with a local distributor who handled Pfizer�s business, but with the rapid growth, acceptance and demand of the high quality pharmaceutical products, it came to a point that they were finding it increasingly impossible to continue to import finished goods.
On 8th of September 1961 Pfizer, established itself as a manufacturing facility in Pakistan by acquiring another incorporated pharmaceutical company Dumex.

On the 19th of June 2000, Pfizer Inc., USA merged with Warner Lambert, USA the subsidiary of which is Parke, Davis & Company Limited, and in 2002, Pfizer Inc. USA made another business decision when it merged with Pharmacia USA. In Pakistan, both the companies, i.e. Pfizer Laboratories Limited and Parke Davis & Company Limited are still operating as separate legal companies and maintaining their positions in the market.
