Main function of the job:

  • Processing timely/accurate payroll for approx. 1000 plus employees
  • Timely collection of payroll submissions from Team Managers on a monthly/4 weekly basis
  • Other ad hoc duties that may be reasonably required. 

Main duties:

  • Collection of monthly/4 weekly payroll submission from various sites
  • Processing monthly/4 weekly payroll for approx. 1100 employees
  • Running payrolls within the Payroll Team for multi-site/company group
  • Maintain systems, processes and controls within payroll to comply with GDPR regulations
  • Gross to Net pay calculations including Pension, SSP, SMP, SPP, Student Loans etc.
  • Submission to HMRC for statutory e-submissions and filing
  • Processing of expense claims
  • Liaise with HMRC, software and pension providers, when necessary to resolve issues.
  • Submission of Year-End processes such as P60’s
  • Communicate and liaise with Team Managers and employees to resolve payroll queries
  • Month end reports

System Skills/ Required Experience:

  • Microsoft Excel skills including VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, etc.
  • Strong IT/system skills
  • Experience of Sage 50 Payroll
  • Experience of Webroster preferential.
  • Basic knowledge of payroll legislation and employee entitlements
