The Assistant to Orphan Home Coordinator(OHC) shall have the primary responsibility to assist OHC in maintaining the designated Orphan Kind units and shall be readily available as and when required by the OHC. The general duties and functions of the Assistant to OHC shall include:
1. Provides administrative support to OHC to ensure efficient operation of MAG
2. Carries out administrative duties such as filing, billing, financial summaries etc.
3. Ensure the best interests of child in terms of child protection, safeguarding, welfare, children needs/issues and homely environment on daily basis.
4. Provide support to OHC in maintaining optimum standards of care in all Orphan Kind units under his/her care.
5. Supports team by performing tasks related to organization and strong communication.
6. Assist OHC in ensuring proper maintenance, sanitation and hygiene of buildings and premises
7. Assist OHC in maintenance of quality of food being served and proper storage of food stuff.
8. Assist OHC in Planning, implementation and coordination of all activities.
9. Observation and follow up of daily routine set for designated Orphan Kind units.
10. Ensure the safety of children in programme and recreational activities; making sure all safety regulations are followed (as mentioned in Section 10.5 of the Standard Operating Procedure).
11. The best interests of the child are to be protected over any other consideration.
12. Ensure protection of children from all types of sexual, emotional, verbal and physical abuse.
13. Ensure children’s safety in daily activities.
14. Do not discriminate against children on the basis of gender, disability, ethnicity, religion or any other grounds of discrimination.
15. Encourage and respect children’s voices and views.
16. Assist OHC in developing special measures/supervision to protect younger and especially vulnerable children from abuse.
17. Assist OHC in maintaining safety and security arrangements.
18. Report suspected or alleged or suspicious behavior to supervisor or designated Child Protection Officer.
19. Any other task assigned by the supervisor
