An enthusiastic and zealous lawyer with adequate working experience through different roles in the professional world, with diligence and determination in achieving the results. Well aware of the working challenges and requisites of legal advocacy through experiencing international, as well as national level mock trial and mooting competitions, along with internships having quasi-Associate work designated in litigation and corporate law work, to the best of my capabilities. Aspire to be a leader in corporate & commercial law by dealing with litigants efficiently through the application of well-established articulation and problem-solving skills. Be active to adapt in any challenge and volatile times through a flexible and open-minded approach to quick learning in a quick-paced learning environment. Have achieved a flexible and efficient work perspective through smart work in balancing and playing varying multiple roles in the real world simultaneously.
Having previously interned at this prestigious firm, I worked as an apprentice with the firm's litigation team to assist senior Associates in and outside the courts. Working primarily, on matters pertaining to drafting and submitting court applications as well as representing before the honourable judges as proxy counsels. Furthermore, I also worked with the corporate team in matters of engineering, procurement and construction contracts along with client opinion research drafting reviewing the competition law and antitrust/merger laws of Pakistan.
The Ministry of Law and Justice conducted a research project regarding Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Courts and their performance since their inception. For this purpose, I performed courtroom proceedings observations along with the judicial lock-up, and the waiting area. Furthermore, interviewed the Honourable Judge Atta Rabbani (GBV District Court, Islamabad), the Honourable Judge Shahid Mehmood (GBV District Court, Peshawar), and the President Peshawar High Court Bar Association, along with the State Prosecutor (of both Districts), the complainants and accused (present at both Courts). Secondly, researched and drafted recommendations based on the International policies, practices and guidelines introduced for the effective functioning of (GBV) Courts and thirdly, reports by UN committees regarding access to justice for women and protocols to be followed in GBV cases. Have been lucky to be a part of the ground-breaking work that will be conceived based on the research and recommendations given by me and my colleagues.
Had the privilege of working in one of the oldest and largest corporate and commercial law firms in Pakistan. Experienced real-life cases of immense value with the legal dynamics involved, and executed the task at hand with the cases appointed with excellence, be it legal drafting or research work. Obtained very precious knowledge by working in an office climate alongside veteran advocates and a demanding environment, through dedication and hard work at the core of every action with the aim of the result.
