For more than 14 years now, I am serving the development sector in Pakistan as an environmentalist, capacity-building professional, emergency disaster management expert in link with the environment, and livelihood expert specializing in social development and environmental science. During the course of my career, I have completed various assignments for local and international organizations, playing my role in the social development and empowerment of underprivileged communities. I have worked in more than 60 districts across Pakistan, Azad Jammu Kashmir Gilgit-Baltistan, in addition to working with communities in Afghanistan. My exposure to different cultures and languages have honed my skills to working with socio-culturally diverse demographic groups.
I received both graduate and post-graduate degrees in Environment and Development and have skills of Geographic Information System (GIS) and other software suites. Moreover, I specialize in Strategic environmental assessments, micro-entrepreneurship development, strategic planning and development, local government mechanisms, environmental impact assessments (EIA), pollution control technology (PCT), natural resource management, water qualifying testing and water filtration, kitchen gardening, and solid waste management techniques.
I have extensive experience in the socio-development sector. In the past eight years, I have completed more than 40 small and large projects with a diverse group of partners, ranging from community-based organizations to international donor agencies and the government. I have enhanced my skills in the management of the complete project cycle. I have conceptualized and designed projects for USAID, ADB, ILO, IFC-World Bank, and JICA, among others. Additionally, I lend instructional design and module development services to GIZ, Adam Smith International, WWF, PPAF, Trocaire, BISP, Afghanaid, and UNDP.
A particular strength of mine is training delivery skills. With certifications from International Finance Corporation (IFC)-World Bank Group, I have mastered training and facilitation skills with extensive experience managing more than 500 workshops in the last ten years alone. I engage trainees with motivational anecdotes, experiential activities, and conceptual clarity while achieving the designed training objectives, developed upon the widespread exposure to different cultures and geographic diversity to steer a training workshop in a pleasant and interesting manner.
With command over each stage of the training cycle, I can fluently design material and conduct training and am able to train the trainers as well. In line with the specific requirements of the partner organizations - protracted experience with national and international actors in the development sector - has given me an advanced understanding of specific policies and practices employed in the industry.
