United Nations Mission in South Sudan Logistics & Supply Chain Officer - 12 July 2018 to 11 July 2022
Used a holistic approach to handle all aspects of Logistics and supply chain management including but not limited to Logistics, supply Chain administration, Communication, Reporting, and Response in Emergency request, inventory Control, receiving, issuing, dispatching, tracking, disposal and Financial Analysis. Duties and achievements:
Supply Chain General Management
• Manage day to day operations of logistics and supply chain including Logistic base, staff management, Running of Supplies, Shipment transportation management, including all warehouses, Engineering, Transport, Supply, and Field Technology Section.
• Thereafter monitors logistics infrastructure and activities and ensures that standard principles are applied even during emergencies, Propose solutions majorly on Receiving and Inspection, Ensure to follow recommended procedures of security report in case of incidents.
• Ensure the strong communication development with all stakeholders and technical units in HQ for logistics, Contribute to consolidation and preparation of operational pipeline planning, and procurement matters and support units for centralized procurement system from regional level in order to prevent and control on fraud and corruption matters.
• Ensure to timely analyze emergency situations and propose logistical strategies
• Planning, designing, and organising of projects with collaboration of team members and other stakeholders as per field requirement on logistics ground, specifically in emergencies, assessment of risk factors and prepare reports.
Inventory Management:
• I have been managing and controlling all inventory and warehouses operation for the western Bar el Ghazal program and ensure that their excellent records keeping, as per the standard operating procedures provided by United Nations guidelines on Property Management.
• I have ensured the implementations UN inventory policies in all 5 warehouses in Wau field office.
• I have monitored warehousing transactions and implemented cycle counting of expendable property to ensure maximum physical verification coverage by the end of the financial year to keep the correct financial analysis and maintain reliability of records through timely and accurate data verification in Umoja.
• I have produced financial ending and year ending inventory report in timely manner.
Assets Management
• I have successfully completed implementation of RFID project on state level which is used to track movement of sea container within the mission.
• I have maintained sound asset management and inventory control system in accordance with United Nations Asset Management and Warehouse policies. I have ensured all the key performance indicators are met within the range of tolerance.
• Asset maintenance and tracking, Disposal process and ensure spot-checks have been done systematically, documented, and reported for all UN assets, inventory, and equipment at least once in the year as per IPSAS guidelines.
• I have identified and addressed weaknesses and/or deficiencies in the domain of asset management in a systematic and consistent manner.
• Collect data and contribute to preparation of accurate and timely reporting which includes Keys Performance Indicators, I have been detecting variation from logistic activities that enables informed decision-making, Identified corrective actions and promptly reported to stakeholders and senior managers.
• Producing the real time budget reports in order to maintain qualitative and quantitative logistics and ensure to use fund efficiently and effectively.
Vehicles & Transport Management
• Performed Duties as OIC Motor Transport Officer in WAU where I have manage Fleet operations have been conducted with adherence to vehicles policies and procedures including vehicles procurement, vehicles movement, and maintenance and reporting accuracy.
• I have ensured all vehicles (if any) or vehicles of utilized service providers inside Bar el Ghazal area are in good condition and well maintained
• Where applicable and fleet is available, I have ensured local fleet management policy I have successfully reviewed regularly fuel consumption management for both vehicles and generators that are allocated to programs.
• I have reviewed vehicle and transport services monthly reports and provide necessary support to the supply chain staff
UMOJA and RFID
• Timely updates of assets and material on UMOJA by using several operational T-Codes which allows.
• performing warehouse daily operations i.e., to Receive or transfer material, inventory counting, material issuance, UNOE updates, Stock reports, Record updating, staff Checking out processing, generating material and assets reports in case of errors and tracking of assets.
• I have successfully completed the implementation of RFID tracking system within WAU field Logbase for monitoring the movement of assets.
Compliance and Ethics
• I have been fully responsible for identifying and analyzing compliance risk in supply chain process in my area of responsibility, I have been a focal point for answering the internal and external auditors and I have ensured corrective action have been taken for audit observations to ensure all supply chain activities are conducted in ethical manners.
• I have ensured proper filling of all Warehouse documents for record-keeping and auditing purpose, and I have been maintaining orderly files on active orders and post activities such as change notices, hand over, scheduling changes and partial shipments.
• I have been conducting Board of Survey (BOS) for all assets recommended by SAU for write-off/Disposal. I have been updating all write-offs and archive all disposal assets in UMOJA and report to R&I bar code asset not in the system.
• Preparing the reports on daily and weekly basis and present to senior management in region and HQ as well.
Learning and Development:
I have been responsible and fully accountable for overseeing all supply chain National Staff learning and development initiatives in Wau integrated warehouse and supporting them in more complex analysis, assess training needs, safety and security trainings with the unit, regular training for supply chain staff for Umoja and day to day warehouse management.
