As a project manager at CWSA Mirpurkhas office, I am leading the 2022 Pakistan Flood response portfolio with 2 projects focusing on Emergencies, Health, Climate Action, Risk Reduction and project management. Some of the main tasks involve but are not limited to:
- Identify the project's goals, objectives, and scope and create a project plan that outlines the tasks, timelines, and resources required
- Develop and design project monitoring instruments for multiple flood response projects
- Facilitating the donor visits
- Performance monitoring visits to field implementation areas
- Train and develop field staff members on usage of different monitoring and documentation tools
- Interview and assist with hiring teams for multiple flood response teams in Sindh
- Draft interim & project completion reports
As a DHCSO, I report to Provincial UNICEF team. Also, monitored Polio Campaigns as External Monitor assigned by EOC Sindh in Hyderabad, Korangi & Malir & Tharparkar districts.
Leading and supervising the Polio campaigns in the district Badin along with supportive supervision in the routine immunization.
Training
I plan and execute district level training plan and also conduct trainings of the Polio teams, area in charges, TTSPs, UCMOs as Master Trainer.
Communication Planning
I Support in developing and implementing a district-specific social mobilization plan for polio eradication and routine immunization. Also, prepare a district-specific plan of Communication activities, clearly identifying purpose and activities planned. I prepare a monthly work-plan of activities in support of social mobilization for PEI and routine immunization. Also support UC teams in developing route maps for Polio campaigns.
Implementation & Monitoring
Promote and monitor UC and community level activities for polio eradication and routine immunization in reluctant and underserved communities. Ensure quality implementation of IEC activities Prepare distribution plan and ensure implementation for IEC materials. Monitor campaign activities (e.g. go to rural area for monitoring; help to cover missed households). Supervise and provide feedback in the daily evening review meeting at DC office.
Polio & EPI Monitoring
Maintain effective coordination with EPI team, health department Sindh. Plan and monitor low performing EPI UCs. Conduct RCA clusters to check EPI coverage, fill KOBO checklists for monitoring feedback of vaccinators. Guide UC staff in developing, validating and implementing EPI micro plan. Conduct capacity building trainings of EPI staff. Analysis of EPI data and share findings with health department.
Active Citizens is a global programme run by the British Council and its partners in over 30 countries. It promotes community cohesion and development through capacity building of young leaders for civic engagement and volunteering. Active Citizens are young, empowered leaders who bring positive changes to their communities through social action.
The programme is a partnership offer between British Council and the Higher Education Commission (HEC), which offers a 4-credit hour course “Citizenship Education and Community Engagement” to students of colleges and universities in order to setup institutionalized avenues for students to engage in community service.
The course offers a comprehensive package to Universities students that cover training on citizenship, opportunities for sustained community engagement, and a chance to participate in youth exchanges and policy dialogues at both the national and international level.
It also offers an opportunity to faculty members to build their capacity as facilitator by enhancing their understanding on Global Citizenship and participatory methodologies.
