<div><p>The major objective of the project is to enhance access to higher education in emerging fields of engineering and technology as envisaged in the MTDF. Keeping in view the growing needs of the industrial sector, the University, in 2010, had decided to introduce Four new disciplines of Electronics Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Engineering Management and Industrial Engineering in addition to increase the capacity of existing departments. There was a need to exploit the talent of the youth as only 15%, 11% and 19% apllications were able to get admission in 2008, 2009, 2010, respectively. The intake of existing departments has been enhanced from 650 to 1158. The new programs need strengthening to meet the requirements of PEC and HEC. Since the students admitted in 2010 are moving towards their final years, the laboratories need to be equipped with the state of art equipment to facilitate practical work to be carried out by the students. The university has planned to strengthen its existing departments at main Campus and two technologies at sub Campus Chakwal by developing infrastructure, strengthening and upgrading laboratories.</p></div>
