Single Super Phosphate

It is the oldest method for the production of Single Super Phosphate (SSP) by reacting sulphuric acid and phosphate rock. Raw material for this process were simply phosphate rock, sulphuric acid & water for the dilution of acid. In this process, we can obtained sulphuric acid from two sources, first is freshly prepared sulphuric acid and secondly we get it from different industries. Moreover, we use phosphate rock after crushing and grinding using jaw crusher and grinding mill, passing through cyclone separator to remove dust particles then we forward it to Mixer. We have sulphuric acid of concentration 98.5%, which is then later can be diluted with demineralized water down to concentration 60% to 77%. During dilution a reasonable amount of heat is evolved due to which its temperature rises, so we sent it to a heat exchanger to cool the liquid before we subject it to mixer. An intense mixing occurs in the mixer. The retention time for proper mixing operation is 30 minutes, a series of reaction occurs and we forward it to den reactor for further curing for 0.5 hr to 4.0 hr ; where it is finally converted into ROP Single super phosphate. Fumes were formed during den reactor curing, which were sent to gas depollution pant to remove hazardous gases and other chemicals. This gas depollution plant consists of scrubber, whereas water is used in reverse direction to fulfill scrubbing needs. Then this powdered Single Super Phosphate (SSP) was sent to Drum Granulator; where powder is fixed in seed like granule pockets. In results granules were formed and then pass it to dryer to remove the remaining moisture. After this we bag our products in a polyethylene bag.
