Teachers need a variety of skills to become proficient in their careers. They need excellent communication skills so they can explain the material in the curriculum in a variety of ways to students who have diverse learning styles. They also need superior interpersonal skills, such as patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

Collaborative skills enable them to work productively with their colleagues. Creativity and presentation skills are important when planning lessons to motivate students and hold their interest. As schools become more technologically advanced, teachers also need basic technological skills for audio-visual presentations and for reporting and taking attendance electronically.

Beaconhouse is one of the largest private sector school organisations in the world, and working with the team over there as a Physics teacher was an incredible experience. As a teacher I had various duties that I had to perform. These included teaching the concepts of physics to a class of 25-30 students in such a manner that each one of them had a clear understanding, perform practicals in front of students in a manner that they too could further perform it themselves.
