LABOR-FREE INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION SYSTEM

The project „Labor-free Industrial Automation System‟ as entitled eliminates the work of labors in the post-manufacturing phase of industrial applications. The products after being manufactured, need four steps before they are dispatched. Those steps include sorting, counting, packing and loading. This project includes all those steps which are fully automated. As the products are manufactured, they are placed on a conveyor belt. A camera is placed over the conveyor belt which is used for „image processing‟ of the products. Image processing is done using the software „Matlab‟. Image processing decides the type of product and conveys it to arduino which then signals the robotic arm to place that specified type of product in a dedicated box or place. As the box gets filled, it is now the responsibility of hydraulic operated second robotic arm with 3 D.O.F which lifts the box and loads it on the truck. The process is controlled by a PLC. The project then works in a non-stop process, starting from products on the conveyor belt, the products are sorted through image processing, which give each product a dedicated code that is fed into the arduino to be conveyed to the first robotic arm. The robotic arm which is programmed using arduino, then picks and places the product in its desired location. Further process is carried out by a hydraulic robotic arm which picks and places the box in the truck for delivering. A PLC Delta DVP 20EX200R controls the process. The project eliminates the work of labors in the post manufacturing phase of working process in an industry which not only minimizes the expenses but also increases the efficiency and output.
