Community Policing

This project, is actually my own research that go all-out for to know about bridging the gap between communities and police for the assurance of peace with the special consideration of community policing system for which the better understanding of community policing is presented. The aim is to find out what sort of strategies do the general police and community police apply over to reduce the crime, fear and disorder in the specified area. A special analysis of the area under the case study is presented with the ways to improve the citizen’s engagement and their mutual cooperation. The negative attitude of public towards police was been elaborated during the study, which could be a great threat to peace maintenance for the forthcoming future. My project is suggesting the ways to bring police and public close to each other. The traditional behavior of police is near to be overcome by the new talent based recruited officers but its reassurance to the public may take a long. In nutshell, it was found out that the local community people’s involvement in decision making regarding peace is a prerequisite to that because bringing of peace is impossible without the engrossment of community in policing. Community engagement theory provides a strong prop to the study which focuses, along with police, on the importance of community involvement vis-à-vis their decision for their own concerns. Results illustrated that while participants believed they were practicing community policing, they did not fully comprehend its philosophy or execution.
