Sr. Database Developer / MicroSoft SQL Developer

Major responsibilities include:

• Database Development and Maintenance: Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL databases for web applications, ensuring robust functionality, security, and backup procedures.
• SQL Query Design and Optimization: Design, implement, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, scripts, and database triggers for application performance powered by MS SQL.
• Data Integrity and Security: Ensure data consistency, integrity, and security across multiple databases, adhering to data privacy policies.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with development teams and project managers to define technical solutions and user requirements and contribute to the application lifecycle.
• Continual Learning and Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and professional development to improve system effectiveness and efficiency.
• Database Administration: Along with DB Development you would be equally best in DB Administration, which includes:
• Database Management
• Data Migration and Integration
• Backup and Recovery
• Security and Compliance
• Performance Tuning
• High Availability and Scaling
• Automation and Scripting
• Troubleshooting and Support
• Documentation

A minimum of 5 years of Database Development experience specifically with MS-SQL is required for this role.

Must Haves:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Developer.
• 5+ years of experience in SQL Server development and administration, including writing complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Extensive experience with SQL Server T-SQL scripting and schema design.
• Solid understanding of relational database design principles.
• Strong knowledge of MS-SQL Server performance tuning, indexing, and optimization techniques.
• Experience with database schema design and normalization.
• Proven track record of performance tuning of database systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
• At least 2 years of Team Lead experience is required.
• C# .NET experience is a major plus.
• REST API experience is a PLUS or working experience on integrations.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Nice to Haves:

• Knowledge of .NET Framework, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Experience with other database types like Mongo and Redis is a plus.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions such as AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, Azure SQL.
• Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI.
