The main objective of the Social Mobilizer is to facilitate the engagement and active participation of community members in social development initiatives, ensuring their empowerment and ownership of the projects. The Social Mobilizer will work towards creating an enabling environment for sustainable community development and social change.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement community mobilization strategies, plans, and activities in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct community assessments and identify community needs, resources, and potential partners.
  • Facilitate community meetings, workshops, and events to raise awareness and promote dialogue on social issues.
  • Mobilize community members, local leaders, and volunteers to actively participate in community development activities.
  • Promote community participation and ownership of projects by facilitating the formation and strengthening of community-based organizations or groups.
  • Provide capacity building support to community members and local organizations to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Coordinate with relevant government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to leverage resources and ensure synergy in community development efforts.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of community mobilization activities, collect data, and prepare progress reports.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of the community at various forums and engage in networking and partnership building to leverage support for community initiatives.
  • Stay updated on social issues, policies, and best practices related to community development and social mobilization.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in community mobilization, participatory approaches, and social change processes.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse community members and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of community development principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks within deadlines.
  • Proficiency in local languages spoken in the target community.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in using relevant software applications.
  • Familiarity with local cultural contexts, customs, and traditions.
  • Graduation preferably in Social work or any discipline of Social Sciences.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Human Rights and issues of flood-affected families in Balochistan Province.
  • Excellent mobilization and assessment report writing analytical, communication and report writing skills in English;
  • 3-5 years of working experience in sectors of DRR and emergency response

  • Adhere to SPO policies and promote participatory culture and demonstrate SPO’s values
  • Participate in professional development training as identified and approved by SPO
  • Carry out any other activities as assigned by the supervisor.
