In Pakistan, Acted has been active since 1993 and has provided assistance across all provinces to an estimated 6.9 million people. The assistance has included emergency response to meet the immediate and live-saving needs of natural disaster and complex emergency affected households, as well as recovery and development support in the form of education and livelihoods promotion and assistance.

The job holder is responsible for providing education capacity strengthening support, and coordination of the planning, implementation, and support in report compilation of the core program being implemented by Acted in Pakistan. The Job Holder will also take responsibility for supporting compliance mechanism of project’s safeguarding, child protection and GESI (Gender Equality and Social Inclusion) streams of program to promote safe programming and communities that increase the participation of children and enable them to develop to their full potential.

Objectives

  1. To assist the Country Coordination while ensuring the program is achieving all Value for Money benchmarks

Coordination with relevant departments (Program development, Implementation Unit, Area Coordination, Logistics, Finance, HR, M&E, Security) within Acted and consortium/implementing partners as well as external stakeholders when needed to ensure activities are implemented in a smooth manner.

Project  Implementation

Education:

  • He/She will lead program development for Education in close coordination with the Country and Area Coordination, Program Development Department, M&E Department, Implementation Unit, and Finance.
  • He/She will grow Acted’s Education portfolio sustainably and strategically, consistent with the Country Strategy and the needs of children in Pakistan.
  • He/She will lead the continuous assessment of Education needs and ensure that these are appropriately reflected in sectoral strategies and programs.
  • Periodically update education needs and gap analysis, program priorities and advocate internally and externally for resource mobilization.
  • He/She leads on technical visioning of new programs and proposals.
  • Coordinate with proposal development team on identifying new opportunities.
  • Work with colleagues from other sectors to coordinate on and integrate programming to ensure all children’s needs are met.
  • He/She will continue pro-active and meaningful participation in Education Sector Working Group
  • He/She will record meeting minutes for all coordination undertaken at different levels
  • The candidate will effectively liaison with support departments on matters pertaining to purchase requests, travel plan, approval of budget request etc.
  • Coordinate in compilation and dissemination of Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and final reports.
  • Develop and maintain effective information database on projects, providing resource and necessary support for program inputs and outputs.
  • Ensure all the program documents are in line with the requirements and available for audit and projects and keep record of all reports for donor in soft and hard form.
  • Facilitate documentation and reporting of assessments, program data, lessons learnt and best practices for internal and external sharing.

GESI and Safeguarding

  • He/She will be responsible for providing necessary support to the team for GESI, protection and SG while ensuring program is functioning according to standard Gender, protection and SG policies of Acted.
  • He/ She will ensure that all GESI, protection and SG documentation are kept in an organized manner
  • The candidate will effectively liaison with support departments on matters pertaining to purchase requests, travel plan, approval of budget request for GESI and protection programming.
  • On behalf of the Country coordination, coordinate with the Islamabad and field team on implementation, Safeguarding, protection and GESI aspects.
  • Work closely with all the allied units and program teams at main and field offices to ensure all safeguarding needs are incorporated and complied at all levels of program.
  • monitoring purpose and are up to date and recorded.
  • Provide technical support to staff for safeguarding and GBV event and workshops arrangement etc.
  • Ensure collection of systematic data, photos, activities information of the field with informed consent and have proper record of those for utilization for reporting.
  • Perform other related duties as per the instructions from the Team Lead or other project team members, under guidance received from the TL.
  • Develop staff refresher training in GESI and safeguarding
  • Support HR in safeguarding and PSEAH case management when needed.
  • Support HR in developing new GESI and SG resource material.
  • Conduct regular visits when required to the field offices to coordinate with field managers, senior field staff and to provide technical support to field teams.

All Acted team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to our beneficiaries and to international standards guiding international relief and development work, while actively engaging beneficiary communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of our field projects

PSEAH Obligation:

Acted has zero tolerance approach on PSEAH matters and as an Acted employee It is my utmost duty to ensure full compliance of PSEAH policies in Acted and outside Acted as well. I will not engage in any PSEAH violations and will ensure team working under my supervision will also follow the same protocols. I shall not be involved in any sexual exploitation or abuse. I shall ensure to comply with the highest standards of moral and ethical conduct. Any incident of SEA shall be reported to Acted. Any failure by myside to take preventive measures against sexual exploitation or abuse, or to investigate allegations or take corrective action, shall constitute grounds for termination of the Agreement.

For the purposes hereof, the following definitions shall be used.

Sexual exploitation means any actual or attempted abuse of a position of vulnerability, differential power, or trust, for sexual purposes, including, but not limited to, profiting monetarily, socially or politically from the sexual exploitation of another.

Sexual abuse means the actual or threatened physical intrusion of a sexual nature, whether by force or under unequal or coercive conditions

Required Education, Qualifications & Skills:

  • An accomplished university graduate in education, social sciences, gender, protection, or a related field
  • Prior knowledge of education programming, safeguarding, gender equality and child protection will be an added value
  • Able to process and articulate complexity in a clear and coherent way.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate and form effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent report writing skills in English
  • Excellent English and Urdu verbal skills
  • Flexibility in adopting approaches and advice to incorporate emerging and transitioning needs to evolve safeguarding and child protection procedures as per project needs during implementation
  • Willingness to travel to filed project sites
  • Fresh graduates will be preferred
  • Good knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, formatting etc.
  • Familiarity with technology tools for virtual meetings and coordination
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
