ACTED Pakistan programmes range from short-term emergency responses to recovery and rehabilitation, as well as longer-term development initiatives. ACTED strategy is to target vulnerable communities affected by natural and conflict-related disasters as well as lack of socio-economic development.

Assignment

The Technical Advisor – FSL & CASH assumes responsibility for coordinating and supporting initiatives, while also providing strategic planning and technical expertise within the realm of food security and livelihood. This role entails leadership in offering technical insights for the development of FSL strategies and projects, both locally and nationally. Additionally, the advisor aids project teams in planning, designing, implementing, supervising, and potentially expanding or refining technical FSL interventions

Duties and Responsibilities

 External Coordination

  • Act as key Acted representative on FSL in Pakistan.
  • Ensure external representation of Acted in FSL, vis-a-vis country and local authorities, other project stakeholder, donors and partners.
  • Participate in and reports (internally) on FSL technical and sectoral meetings, clusters and working groups involving all relevant stakeholders such as donors, NGO, UN agencies, inter-governmental institutes.
  • Coordinate and network with key stakeholders including Government, employers, TEVTA, NTB etc.
  • Forge strategic partnerships with relevant Government departments and research institutions to harmonize ACTED’s FSL programs with prevailing market dynamics.

Technical Requirement:

  • The person will be responsible to carry out the market assessment of the employable skills in the project areas and develop a way forward for skill development of unemployed youth (including women) and their job placement.
  • Provide support in development and modification of TVET models as per market demand by reviewing the existing curricula of others implementing agencies/TVET institutes.
  • Conduct comprehensive market assessments for agricultural and livestock sector.
  • Ensure the efficacy and excellence of agricultural and livestock interventions by fostering collaborative efforts with the program implementation team.
  • Provide technical expertise in designing and implement climate smart agricultural and livestock intervention to precisely meet the evolving demands of the market.
  • Conduct market assessments to identify opportunities and challenges for SME sector
  • Provide technical expertise in designing and implement SMEs models, including business incubation programs and access to markets initiatives.
  • Conduct regular assessments to monitor the impact of cash transfer programs on food security, livelihoods, and overall well-being of beneficiaries.
  • Provide technical expertise in designing  and implement the cash transfer programs tailored to the specific needs and vulnerabilities of the target population.
  • Provide technical expertise in design and implement microfinance models tailored to the needs of project beneficiaries, including credit products, savings schemes, and insurance options.
  • The Technical coordinator shall support the Project development unit in designing the FSL projects interventions through technical inputs and will also support in preparation of reports to be submitted to Donors / Authorities / Coordination bodies.
  • Develop strategies for the operationalization of country programmatic strategy plan.
  • Organize regular capacity-building workshops for staff and Acted’s partners.
  • Develop FSL-related knowledge products for ACTED.
  • Provide regular support to project managers and teams for the implementation of FSL-related activities.

Sexual abuse means the actual or threatened physical intrusion of a sexual nature, whether by force or under unequal or coercive conditions
