The Receptionist will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to manage a busy reception area efficiently. You will handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and provide information to patients, ensuring their visit is as comfortable as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greeting Patients and Visitors: Welcome patients and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Answering Phones: Respond to phone inquiries, provide information, and direct calls to the appropriate department or staff member.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Manage patient appointments using the medical center’s scheduling software. Confirm upcoming appointments and follow up with patients for rescheduling as necessary.
  • Patient Check-In: Ensure a smooth check-in process by verifying patient information, confirming appointments, and handling any required paperwork.
  • Handling Payments: Collect payments for consultations, services, and medical tests. Process billing and provide receipts to patients.
  • Maintain Patient Records: Update patient information in the database, ensure the accuracy of records, and manage confidential medical information.
  • Provide Information: Answer basic questions about the medical center’s services, hours of operation, and policies.
  • Office Coordination: Liaise with the medical staff, including doctors and nurses, to ensure patients are seen promptly and any administrative needs are met.
  • General Administrative Duties: Perform tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning documents, and ensuring the reception area is neat and organized.
  • Compliance: Adhere to privacy and confidentiality laws regarding patient information, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in a related field (healthcare management, business administration, etc.).
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and patient management software (experience with healthcare-specific systems is a plus).
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a busy environment.
  • Professional appearance and attitude.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is an asset, but not required.
