Provide support to the Senior Veterinarian and Farm Manager to:
1. Plan, implement and manage all animal-related activities of the Farm.
2. Develop, improve and implement necessary Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs) (nutrition, medicine, vaccination, health, reproduction, biosecurity, newborn calves, fresh calvers, dry cows, close-up cows, goats, etc.) on the Farm.
3. Develop and implement feed plan for optimum milk production.
4. Plan and maintain feed supplies (including silage, forages, concentrate ingredients) and ensure healthy feeding of cows.
5. Manage the health of all animals
6. Ensure focus on reproduction of cows.
7. Maintain herd records on paper and on Google Sheets.
8. Develop and implement protocols for healthy raising of calves.
9. Maintain a healthy working relationship with the labor, staff and suppliers.
12. Interact with consultants, farm suppliers and other service providers.
14. Follow health and safety and wellbeing procedures.
15. Keep up to date with new farm technology, and ways to make the dairy farm more environmentally sustainable.
16. Ensure regular training and development of junior staff and labor on the farm on better farm practices.
17. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Farm Management.
