You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the food and beverage services in the hotel, specifically focusing on room service operations. This includes managing the delivery of food and beverages to guest rooms, ensuring quality service, and maintaining a high standard of customer satisfaction. The role requires close coordination with the kitchen, housekeeping, and front desk departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Room Service Operations: Oversee and manage the room service team to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality delivery of food and beverages to guest rooms. Monitor the quality and presentation of all items served through room service.
  • Team Management: Supervise, train, and motivate room service staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable about the menu, hotel policies, and customer service standards. Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak periods.
  • Guest Service: Ensure a superior guest experience by addressing and resolving any issues or concerns related to room service in a professional and efficient manner. Handle special requests and accommodate guest preferences.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards for the quality, taste, and presentation of all room service items. Regularly review and adjust room service offerings to meet guest expectations and industry trends.
  • Order Management: Oversee the room service ordering process, ensuring that orders are taken accurately, prepared promptly, and delivered in a timely manner. Monitor order accuracy and handle any mistakes or issues swiftly.
  • Inventory & Supplies: Manage the inventory of room service supplies, including menus, utensils, condiments, linens, and other materials. Coordinate with the kitchen and purchasing department to ensure the appropriate stock levels are maintained.
  • Menu Planning & Pricing: Work with the executive chef and food and beverage director to update room service menus, develop seasonal offerings, and adjust pricing based on guest preferences and market trends.
  • Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with the front desk and housekeeping teams to ensure room service orders are smoothly integrated into the guest experience. Coordinate with housekeeping for the cleaning and maintenance of room service trays.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all food safety regulations, health codes, and hotel policies are followed in the preparation, handling, and delivery of food and beverages. Ensure cleanliness and proper sanitation in all areas related to room service.
  • Feedback & Improvement: Regularly solicit guest feedback on room service quality and address any areas for improvement. Implement changes or adjustments based on guest comments and operational insights.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5–8 years of experience in food and beverage or room service operations, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or management role within the hospitality industry.
