Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment such as fiber optic lines, telephone systems, VoIP, and broadband services.
- Perform structured cabling installation (Ethernet, fiber optics, coaxial cables) in commercial and residential properties.
- Set up and troubleshoot routers, switches, modems, and network devices.
- Read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
- Conduct site surveys and ensure proper routing of cables and network infrastructure.
- Diagnose and repair faulty connections, wiring issues, and network disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and telecommunications regulations.
- Document installation procedures, service reports, and technical configurations.
- Provide customer support and educate clients on system usage.
- Travel to client sites and work in various environments, including outdoor installations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Diploma/Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, IT, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in telecom installation, networking, or fiber optics.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of fiber optic splicing, RF systems, VoIP, and broadband technologies.
- Proficiency in using telecom tools such as OTDR, splicing machines, and network testers.
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, and switching concepts.
- Certifications (Preferred): Fiber Optic Certification, CCNA, or Electrical License.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and climb poles or ladders.
- Work in confined spaces, such as data centers or underground conduits.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours based on project needs.
Work Environment:
- Field-based work, often requiring travel to client locations.
- Exposure to electrical components, network equipment, and outdoor installations.
- Use of safety gear such as helmets, harnesses, and gloves.
