Key Responsibilities:

  1. Inventory Management and Optimization:

    • Develop and implement inventory management strategies to ensure optimal stock levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
    • Monitor inventory levels, turnover rates, and stock movements to minimize excess inventory and reduce storage costs.
    • Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records and identify discrepancies.
  2. Demand Forecasting and Planning:

    • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to forecast demand for kitchen and cookware products based on market trends and historical data.
    • Adjust inventory levels and procurement plans based on sales forecasts, promotional activities, and new product launches.
    • Utilize inventory management software and forecasting tools to improve accuracy in demand planning.
  3. Supplier Management and Coordination:

    • Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components, including metals, coatings, plastics, and other materials specific to kitchen and cookware manufacturing.
    • Negotiate terms, pricing, and lead times with suppliers to optimize costs and ensure consistent quality and availability of materials.
    • Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships to ensure reliability and responsiveness.
  4. Warehouse and Storage Management:

    • Oversee warehouse operations to ensure the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
    • Implement best practices for inventory storage, including organization, labeling, and inventory rotation, to maximize space and prevent damage or obsolescence.
    • Ensure that the warehouse is maintained in a clean, organized, and safe manner, complying with all safety regulations.
  5. Inventory Control and Accuracy:

    • Develop and enforce inventory control procedures to prevent stock discrepancies, theft, and loss.
    • Implement and maintain a reliable inventory tracking system to provide real-time inventory data and reduce manual errors.
    • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  6. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Coordinate with production, procurement, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure smooth inventory flow throughout the manufacturing and distribution process.
    • Communicate inventory status, issues, and action plans to senior management and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Provide regular inventory reports, including stock levels, turnover rates, and inventory valuation, to support decision-making.
  7. Continuous Improvement and Efficiency:

    • Identify opportunities to streamline inventory management processes and reduce waste, improving overall efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
    • Implement lean inventory practices and other inventory management techniques to reduce holding costs and improve cash flow.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance inventory management strategies.
  8. Compliance and Safety:

    • Ensure all inventory activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards, especially concerning storage and handling of materials.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective measures to address any safety concerns in inventory handling and storage.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the kitchen and cookware industry, including the types of materials used (such as metals, coatings, and plastics) and the specific requirements for storing and handling these materials.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory records and prevent errors in inventory management.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to interact with suppliers, team members, and other departments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in inventory management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of warehouse staff and inventory controllers.

Education and Experience:

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, business administration, or a related field is typically required.
  • Experience: Several years of experience in inventory management, supply chain management, or warehouse operations, preferably in the kitchen and cookware industry or a related manufacturing environment.

Work Environment:

  • Inventory Managers typically work in warehouse or manufacturing plant settings, where they oversee inventory storage and movement.
  • The role may involve occasional lifting and moving of inventory items and may require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • The position may require some evening, weekend, or overtime work to address inventory issues or meet production deadlines.
